omg things are getting "funnier" every time I speak to someone at USCIS. I just spoke to another immigration officer at USCIS (wanted to find our why my case was transferred to NY). Her response was "what? who told you that?. That's not true. We put a request to VCS and you need to wait 30 days before calling us. And, if they (vsc) don't answer within 30 days we will give you their email address and you email them yourself and wait 30 days for the answer". Wooow. What are mess... Why me?

You're right. This IS ridiculous. Contact your Congressman about this. Provide a copy of the letter. Explain what happened and how long you've waited, how many BAD answers you've been given. Have him or her DEMAND better help and expedition of the duplicated case. You paid the USCIS for a service and they haven't delivered. Complain until you get service.

I'm sorry, I wish I could provide better answers. You DID make a complete copy of your packet before you sent it, right? So you can reconstruct everything?

I'm so sorry. I really wish there were another way to go about it. Would you like some help putting a new packet together? I'll gladly offer my time to help if it will get it done quickly for you. I'm really good with organizing files (years as a paralegal make you a bit OCD about it).

PM me if you want help, honestly. I feel so bad for you. This could just as easily have been any of us. Sheesh, now I'm crying and it's not even my case. This is just awful.

No need for thanks, honestly. I just wish there were more that the rest of us VJ'ers could do to help. We're all going through this and it's so easy to look at people in awful situations like yours and say, 'Phew.... glad it's not me.' But how does that make you feel? It could so easily have BEEN me, or any of us. Right now I'm lucky and everything is moving along swiftly, but they could drop my case in the bin tomorrow by mistake, or spill their afternoon tea on it and claim it was damaged in shipping. It's a bureaucracy. There's no telling what they'll do.

I've got spare classification folders, printable tabs, and astrobrights at the ready if you decide you'd like some help. Just say the word!

It's ok I will survive. It could have been worse. I will wait another week or so and if there is still nothing from NVC I will reconstruct my petition. Getting original signature from my fiancee will be time consuming :( Hopefully it does not take long for USCIS to process it once they receive it.

I didn't have his original signature on anything. We used a scanned copy of his letter of intent, it wasn't notarized, just signed, and attached a copy of his info page from his passport. My attorney advised me to sign his G-325a with his permission, but others have said they didn't have it signed and were approved. You had an original signature on the one you sent in, so send a COPY of it, just to prove you had her signature and were putting the duplicate together with as much haste as possible.

Can she get access to a good quality scanner and scan them to you? A good photo-printer on quality paper might be doable if it's scaled and cut to size.
