Funny, yes, but Alla got to witness a case when she went for Sergeys intervew where a woman tried to pass off a court order allowing her to take her son out of the country for a VISIT to the United States into a PERMANENT order and get a K-2 visa. There was a lot of yelling and screaming by the woman and her USC fiance and then they both got escorted out by US Marines! Did this woman think they could not read Ukrainian at the consulate? All of the people you deal with there are fluent in Ukrainian, Russian and English.

Ok so now I have another question

Yana was looking through all her documents and she found a few new stamps

Is it your opinion that she needs to translate the stamps? Or just the content of the document?

Alla does a "symbol" to represent the stamp on the translation, a square inside a circle for example, just some symbol she can make in a word processing program. In this symbol she adds what the "stamp" is such as "Seal of the Village Soviet, region of blah, blah blah" or whatever it is, sometimes the the long, awkward sounding Ukrainian or Russian Ministries....sorry, I always had to laugh at those! Somehow it made me feel like I was in a Marx Bros. movie.

Anyway, I am not sure it is necessary. Alla also works with a group from the University of Vermont called "Russo Trans" a small translation "business" that uses students studying Russian to do translations for a fee. The students make a little money and get practice. They also use these symbols, but again, I am not sure it is important. I would think it is not.

Then the translation will read...

The document is recorded by the Deputy Minister of the Cabinet for the Region of Zaporozhnaya for the Recording of of the Documents of the Zaporozhnaya Oblast by order of the Village Soviet and is kept in the office of the Deputy Minister of the Cabinet for the Region of Zaporozhnaya for the Recording of of the Documents of the Zaporozhnaya Oblast by order of the Village Soviet.

Then Harpo Marx jumps out and honks his horn, every time you are introduced!
