Time Lines & Fees

Just an idea, I was thinking looking at everyones TIME LINES...it might be helpful to everyone who comes on here to see the FEE paid at each step of the process. Next to the timeline.

Just an idea, it could help in financial planning for all of us as we come along behind you :o)

Then if you see some one going about the same thing that you are beginning, you don't get sticker shock later & find yourself in the fetal position in a darkened room thinking about eating a gallon of ice cream...

Even though fees go up and up...it could help us all prepare!

I find searching for fees & costs the most frustrating thing about the process, you can plan & do all the paperwork you want, but if you can't pay...you are outta luck!

I think that's a great idea!!! I originally thought 455.00 was all I would have to pay entirely.

Then after i started the process i found out I was terribly wrong. It really hurt my feelings

to see how much this whole thing was :crying: , but i can't be without my baby, so I will do whatever

it takes. I think the USCIS knows thats how most people feel, but then again the price

would make some not so serious people really think about the whole thing.

Fees are posted in the instructions on the forms. To not know the fees is a bit wonky, IMO - as it sorta implies (at least to me) that someone isn't reading the instructions.

No, I'm not knocking any one, don't take it the wrong way, yes yes, reading is important, blah blah ..

to add fee amounts into official VJ timelines, though, as collectable / collectible data points won't make much sense, IMO. (ps - hey KIM ! please fill out yer official VJ timeline over at http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=86139 and thanks in advance ! )

for anything in yer 'about me' / former signature block area - hey - that's free form - you can do what you want there...

I am entirely aware of the fees & have read all the lists etc...however, the differences occur when it is not just fiancee' for example kids etc...plus by adding to timelines you kind of can see the space that can occur to when fees are due, some people apply for AOS right away...if you have 3 kids plus fiancee to pay for it may be several weeks (or a year tho YES I KNOW THIS IS BAAAAAD!!!)even though it should be done immediately or you will ne out of status.

So anyway...just saying I am not a dummy :o) I just thought it would be really nice to see.

So nope I am not lazy, nor have I neglected to read every single thing here, I will be able to get a lawyer job doing this by next week!

Just was thinking it would be cool.......................come on Darnell, you know it would be cool! admit it!

P.S. I am the best friend of the love birds but will pitch in money to pay for the kids. I am waiting to post time line until we send in the I-129F in late Sept.

ah - so really, a discrete data point for 'how much you paid'.

I can see some actual usage out of that, now that you've 'splained yerself a bit - but no idea if the base datafiles/tables can be modified to include those numbers, here.

I know is some database, so concept of adding in a parent/child/foreign-key relationship will be straightforward, then the coding to 'hook in' will be straight forward as well (as opposed to adding in more columns) .

Should be a reasonable effort, I think so - as VJ has enough traffic and users going through a 'cycle' at any given point in time, might make some sense to add it in.
