I almost never have change. I've become accustomed to using a debit card for almost everything. I seldom have any real money in my wallet.

I never have cash with me.... I charge everything... I just dont do cash, takes up too much room...

I'm forever calling Home Depot B&Q!, Dave now knows what I mean, at first he thought I called it the BBQ place cos they have grills outside.

You can do it if you B&Q it? *shrug*

When you have to change your VJ board settings to take account of your new time zone! Which I just remembered to do after being here 3 weeks!

And when you say 'yard' instead of garden and don't think it sounds 'wrong'

When AC feels 'too cold' instead of a 'blessed relief' :D

When you don't think dollars all look the same any more - and btw - is it just me or do you find you're carrying about 3 tons of loose change all the time?

Anyone else? :)

Yes I always have a lot of change in my wallet. I don't like dumping it all out either, I like keeping some change to make exact change when possible. :D

And speaking of money, I was really paranoid the first few times Sujeet went to a store by himself, when he was still struggling with the dime nickle issue. You never think one day you'll be nervous when your husband has to pay for something by himself at a store, until you marry someone from another country.

Guess the usage I considered mine is the proper one. lol

"Cilantro - pronounced [sih-LAHN-troh]

This member of the carrot family is also referred to as Chinese Parsley and Coriander. It is actually the leaves (and stems) of the Coriander plant. Cilantro has a very pungent odor and is widely used in Mexican, Caribbean and Asian cooking. The Cilantro leaves look a bit like flat Italian parsley and in fact are related. "

ummmmm.... cilantro!!! could not live without it!!! to me it is truly an essential herb! i use it making mexican dishes, and my wife uses it to make thai dishes! :D

I love cilantro too! I was just wondering the other day why it's called cilantro here and coriander in other places, but found the answer that cilantro is the Mexican name for it.

OH MY GOODNESSSSSS!!! I had no idea they were the same thing?!!! Oh im such a dork. I really thought cilantro was just some herb that they use alot here, but I had just never come across before!!! Oh my......

The US does have a $1.00 coin (in addition to the bill), but we hate them. We have a $2.00 bill and we hate them. If we ever get them in change for a purchase, we dump them on the next poor sucker as soon as we can.

I still don't understand a preference for currency in different colors....I have enough to try and remember without memorizing what color is what denomination. :P And why are the bills so big!!!??? I don't care about what color it is as long as I can just see what the number is on the bill and for it to fit nicely into my wallet. I guess it's what we get used to! ;)

Yep, I know I've moved to the Us now that I think it perfectly normal to buy my orange squash in tiny packets filled with powder and have to make a whole jug of the stuff <I miss Robinsons> :P

Our Second Anniversary

I want to succeed in America where, unlike Britain, they do not regard ambition as being the same as eating babies.

The National Rifle Association says that, "Guns don't kill people, people do," but I think the gun helps, you know? I just think just standing there going, "Bang!" That's not going to kill too many people, is it? You'd have to have a really dodgy heart to have that happen.

There's a huge hole in the whole Flood drama, because anything that could float or swim got away scot-free, and it was the idea to wipe out everything, He didn't say, "I will kill everything, except the floating ones and the swimming ones, who will get out due to a loophole."

When Tim has been here, within a matter of weeks we will have nearly $30 in change stuck in a jar. Sometimes he would attempt to use it, so we would be standing at a register.....

Him: What is this one?

Me: A dime that is worth 10 cents

Him: Why is your 10p smaller than your 5p

Me: They aren't p's, they are dimes and nickles and I don't know why it is smaller

Him: What is this one?

Me: A quarter

Him: A quarter of a dollar, that is 25.

Me: chuckle, chuckle, giggle, giggle

Cashier: WTFFFFFFFFFFF

Him: grrrrrrr (grabs out bills instead)

LMAO!!!!

That is too funny!!! Thanks for sharing the story!!!

And Cian is right, do we need talking bills next? I realize many countries have bills that are different colors and different sizes to help people differentiate between them, but when I see that kind of money, I refer to it as "Monopoly" money!!!

 Save up all the pennies and pay for your food at drive-thru restaurants in pennies only. I did that once. The cashier wasn't very happy with me.

LOL!!! Too Funny!

Dave leaves his change in his pockets when he puts things in the laundry.. I now have $5.67 in my pile next to the washer!

:D There's a rule in our house -

If your pockets aren't emptied, and I find money in there when I do the laundry...it becomes my tip.

Thank you!

Aye...in THIS house any money I find in the washer, the dryer, or in pants pockets goes to the person doing the laundry. ;)

As far as currency goes, I really like Canadian currency...it's much easier to deal with and I love those $1 and $2 coins. The currency is different colours making it easy to spot which bill is which. I have a ton of change in my wallet...all Canadian. I've had to place it in a zip compartment so I don't accidentally give the cashier a canadian quarter or dime.

Glad to see you posting again Jay! Joel and I have been missing your popcorn! ;)

Yeah.. even sometimes you can do grocery shopping with change!!
