Dave leaves his change in his pockets when he puts things in the laundry.. I now have $5.67 in my pile next to the washer!

:D There's a rule in our house -

If your pockets aren't emptied, and I find money in there when I do the laundry...it becomes my tip.

Thank you!

:lol: Dang VJers making other meanings for "do the laundry"... my mind wandered to wonder what that could've meant. Find money in where, and how'd it get there?:lol: Maybe I should go back to sleep.

Ok - can't resist.

A woman goes out with some friends to a male stripbar. Every time the male dancer came closer one of her friends would slip a $5 or a $10 into whatever piece of clothing he still had on and she could reach. Finally, he was down to just a decorative 'center piece' and she was the only one who hadn't slipped him some money. He is gyrating and turning in front of her while she looks into her wallet and realizes all she has is a $100. Like any modern woman, she does the only thing possible - she takes out her debit card, gives it a quick swipe down the crack, and takes back her change.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

 Save up all the pennies and pay for your food at drive-thru restaurants in pennies only. I did that once. The cashier wasn't very happy with me.

Aye...in THIS house any money I find in the washer, the dryer, or in pants pockets goes to the person doing the laundry. ;)

As far as currency goes, I really like Canadian currency...it's much easier to deal with and I love those $1 and $2 coins. The currency is different colours making it easy to spot which bill is which. I have a ton of change in my wallet...all Canadian. I've had to place it in a zip compartment so I don't accidentally give the cashier a canadian quarter or dime.

Glad to see you posting again Jay! Joel and I have been missing your popcorn! ;)

When you have to change your VJ board settings to take account of your new time zone! Which I just remembered to do after being here 3 weeks!

And when you say 'yard' instead of garden and don't think it sounds 'wrong'

When AC feels 'too cold' instead of a 'blessed relief' :D

When you don't think dollars all look the same any more - and btw - is it just me or do you find you're carrying about 3 tons of loose change all the time?

Anyone else? :)

Yes I always have a lot of change in my wallet. I don't like dumping it all out either, I like keeping some change to make exact change when possible. :D

And speaking of money, I was really paranoid the first few times Sujeet went to a store by himself, when he was still struggling with the dime nickle issue. You never think one day you'll be nervous when your husband has to pay for something by himself at a store, until you marry someone from another country.

Guess the usage I considered mine is the proper one. lol

"Cilantro - pronounced [sih-LAHN-troh]

This member of the carrot family is also referred to as Chinese Parsley and Coriander. It is actually the leaves (and stems) of the Coriander plant. Cilantro has a very pungent odor and is widely used in Mexican, Caribbean and Asian cooking. The Cilantro leaves look a bit like flat Italian parsley and in fact are related. "

ummmmm.... cilantro!!! could not live without it!!! to me it is truly an essential herb! i use it making mexican dishes, and my wife uses it to make thai dishes! :D

I love cilantro too! I was just wondering the other day why it's called cilantro here and coriander in other places, but found the answer that cilantro is the Mexican name for it.

The advantage of the change jar is it's almost like free money. I never use exact change. I toss the change in the cupholder of my truck, then clean it out once a week and add it to the jar. When I take it to the bank, I get a "free" $100 bill. Or so it seems. Good for making those silly purchases that you couldn't otherwise justify. Like food, when you're broke. LOL

True. I do dump out some of my change when it gets too heavy, but I also like keeping some with me. The most I ever saved in a change jar was around $80. Then cashed it in. :P

I almost never have change. I've become accustomed to using a debit card for almost everything. I seldom have any real money in my wallet.

Aye, that's what Joel and I do. Seldom do either of us have cash. Might not be such a good thing since drink machines don't take debit cards.....
