When you have to change your VJ board settings to take account of your new time zone! Which I just remembered to do after being here 3 weeks!

And when you say 'yard' instead of garden and don't think it sounds 'wrong'

When AC feels 'too cold' instead of a 'blessed relief' :D

When you don't think dollars all look the same any more - and btw - is it just me or do you find you're carrying about 3 tons of loose change all the time?

Anyone else? :)

Ah, but "we" (US) can carry $15 in ones and it doesn't make our trousers fall off.....

Change goes in a change jar. You aren't actually carrying that stuff around with you, are you??? Stick it in a jar, then twice a year take it to the bank and get a nice $100 bill for it.

As an aside, when I first started talking to people from England on message boards, and they would talk about their "gardens", I assumed that all people in England had these massive gardens with tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, etc.....

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Hmm... I'd have to say

You know you're in the U.S.

Because when you were overseas you would think "my family is in the USA, they are 5 time zones before me, it is midnight, it will be 7 there"

and you come to the U.S. and forget the timezones and end up calling your family overseas at 3:30 in the morning

lol

I put all my loose change in a jar and it is called our vacation fund. It doesn't pay for the vacation but its like free money to use on whatever while on vacation. My girls and I have done this since January and we have $135 saved for our trip to Disney World in September. :D

well I personally would love nothing more than to have a huge "change jar" right now but as we seem to be stuck in NVC hell for the time being there is not much chance of that ;)

But SOON, I am sure

I miss coin $1 and $2. I really can't stand how US money all looks the same.

Oh and here is how I know I am not at home anymore!

Welcome to desert life! My son just spotted something running up the wall. He said it was a lizard. I said no. It was. Ewwwwwwwwwwwww

A little tiny lizardy thingy. It was so gross. We tossed it out on it's tail.

But why, why do they call coriander "cilantro"? WTH is "cilantro"?

Cilantro is the word used by Mexicans, typically.

They are both the proper name of the herb....along with Chinese parsley, and I'm sure one or two others.

Me, I use 'Coriander' for the dried seeds and 'cilantro' for the fresh leaf. I hardly use Coriander, but - since I make a LOT of Mexican food - I use a lot of Cilantro.

We don't. We call the leaves of the plant cilantro, and the dry fruit (seeds) coriander. Two totally different things. :D

Guess the usage I considered mine is the proper one. lol

"Cilantro - pronounced [sih-LAHN-troh]

This member of the carrot family is also referred to as Chinese Parsley and Coriander. It is actually the leaves (and stems) of the Coriander plant. Cilantro has a very pungent odor and is widely used in Mexican, Caribbean and Asian cooking. The Cilantro leaves look a bit like flat Italian parsley and in fact are related. "
