It has already been six months since we filed for the adjustment of status and still nothing. Up to this point I have been very patient and I have not even tried to inquire why it is taking so long as I knew they were going going to tell me that "it has not been six months yet". Well, now it has been six months.

Are cases taking this long?

What should I do now?

Should I schedule an infopass appointment?

When I called the 1800 number that is on the notice of action, the clueless rep could not even tell me where my paperwork was: Missouri, Texas..?

any advise?

When was the last update of your case?

It would help if you had a timeline so we could comment more insightfully on your case. For example did you file for EAD/AP? Have you recieved these? Have you moved during your 6 months since filing?

Infopass will probably help.

We applied back in January, the effective date (or whatever is called) is February 09th, she had her biometrics appointment on April 11th, about a month later we receiver her emplyment authorization card. We haven't heard anything since. In june I called to notify them of our new address, we received a letter about ten days later stating that they had changed our address. We are still waiting for the interview date...

Ah, so you've had an address change. I'd get an Infopass if I were you. There seems to be an almost 90%* chance of USCIS ###### up if you change your address (despite letters confiming the change). You need to talk to them now to make sure they haven't just been sending interview notices to your old address.

*Guess.

Did you also send change of address to any offices (including local) that would may have your file, as well as the new local office that would adjudicate the AOS? It is essential to do this, and to follow up to ensure that the new address has been confirmed by the previous and current local offices.
