Interview experience

We just came home really not happy :( First they took my required papers then the lady called me to do the finger print. We waited some time then they called my name for interview. The interview lady was very nice. I had to take an oath and I signed my DS-230II. She asked my husband some questions then asked him to leave and asked me some questions and looked at our wedding album.

Questions:

1. What is your wedding date?

2. How did you get married(meet)?

3. Is your husband a convert to Islam? (Yes)

She told me our case needs "Additional Administrative Processing" in D.C. My husband asked why and she said she couldn't say but the computer stated this and it could be a couple weeks or a few months. My husband asked who else he could speak to about this (Embassy or otherwise) and she said "No one else".

She also kept my passport and said they would call in a few weeks. They gave us a white 'Refusal Worksheet' that had "Additional Administrative Processing" marked as the reason. My husband asked about the 'Refusal Worksheet' and she assured there is nothing to worry about.

Anyone went through this that can let know about their story?

I am sorry to hear this. But if they kept your passport that is a good sign. You have been placed on AP and this might takes a couple of weeks to few months. Did you have your police report obtain through embassy?

Filed: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Country: China

'send' here is some electronic thing, so don't freak out too much.

For a detailed backgrounder on namechecks (most AP folks are needing more namechecks, btw)

see

FWIW, it's a GOOD THING that they kept the passport - USUALLY the 'clearance from AP' will occur soonish.

Those in long-term AP have their passports returned to them.

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
