2nd RFE (Not IMBRA Related)

Well folks,

It was not an RFE for what I had expected. They were asking for photocopies of every page of my (USC) passport.

Although I thought my evidence of having met my Fiance within two years was good, it was not good enough. I worked in her country for 18 months, ending in 2005...

I supplied: Airline Ticket stubs, ATM and credit card receipts and so forth, I did not think to supply passport pages, with visa stamps.

I originally thought the RFE would be for the single copies of the G-325A Biographical information, that I sent.

Although it is clear, I dodged the bullet on that one, always be sure to send all 4 pages of the G-325A document for each person, with original signatures. Total = 8 pages.

Bottom line for those filing now or getting ready to file, read up on this site and ask many questions. Don't make simple, yet avoidable mistakes, leading to further delay for approval. This site can prevent that from happening to you.

I had already filed my petition, months before finding this site. :(

I know that yourself and anyone held up because of IMBRA wont necessarily see this as a positive thing considering the long wait times and patience stretched. You are almost there William. An RFE at this stage always has a positive side to it....that your case is being adjudicated....there is no unknown and as soon as you return the RFE generally an approval is not that far away.......obviously barring any possible holdups with security checks, but you know all that.

All the best to you William

I'm confused - they wanted a copy of every page to prove you are a USC or to prove your relationship?

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. Appreciate that.

Also, thanks Aussiewench for the reality check. We all need that at times. Your advice is golden!

Kit, I am sure it is not for proof of USC, as I sent a certified copy (raised seal) of my birth certificate (bought a few when I worked for the Government).

Guess they want to verify my claim that I worked there and was there? Thought the other evidence would have proved that. Oh, well. That item is on the way...

On another note, the RFE came with a self addressed standard size envelope, try stuffing 60 pages (have the added pages A-Z) into that puppy!!!!

I cut out the "red writing" address portion, and pasted on a USPS Express document envelope.

The supplied envelope, does have the following at the bottom, like this: ATTN: RFE

Hopefully, it will wind up in the hands of the person that sent the RFE, and that person is hopefully finished training!!

Thats good to hear William. Are you going to send the other copies of the G-325A just in case? I have heard of them sending an RFE for one thing and then turning around and sending another one for something else.

I hope that the evidence that I sent was OK. Copies of the picture page of my passport with copies of the stamp pages, 10 pics of us together, copies of the airline boarding passes (they had the full date on them including the year!) and various receipts from 4 of my trips.

I find it very strange - I sent my complete passport as proof of my US citizenship and it's virtually impossible to read the stamps from my trips - they are tiny and the same color ink as the page.

Anyway, glad you got it and it's in the mail - hopefully it will not be much longer now (L)

Don't sweat it. The adjudicator hopefully had enough brains to ask for everything that was needed. I was just thinking it would be a good idea to CYA since you were sweating the G-325A.

On 2nd RFE's , Don't forget jpine, that makes 4. Anyone else?

Kit,

The Indonesian visa is a label type visa, with holograms. They copy quite nicely. Also the entry/exit stamps, (known in the biz as "chops") turned out well too.

Hoping we all get some well deserved news really soon!!!!
