“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but you've got a long, long time to wait yet. Have you filled out your timeline (hint hint)? If you fill in your NOA1 information, you can see an estimate of when you might expect to get NOA2 approval. Of course, NOA2 doesn't mean you get to be reunited with your loved one. Check the guides (look up at the top of this page) for K-1 visa process (you said fiancee, so I assume you're doing K-1). Your fiancee will have to have an interview at the embassy in her country. We're all here waiting, or have been waiting, or have been through the process of waiting. I don't know if that counts as "comforting advice" or not. But trust me, we all miss our loved ones, or missed them while their visa applications were being processed. Many have gone before you, and many have successfully been reunited. Patience is your best friend during this time.

You could study your portal, study the timelines IN your portal, and formulate yer own answer for 'when stuff will happen' on yer casefile.

It's a good exercise to do, whilst yer waiting - keeps yer mind busy.

Give it a try ? Anxious to read about yer own prediction, once you've reviewed timelines in YOUR portal for YOUR visa type.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Don't listen to sarcastic advise dear! Your frustration is shared by most of us. I get up once or twice a night to check my email and see if I have any word from the Embassy. Do listen to good advice though, talk often, write emails, be playful, keep busy, spend time with friends and family and when necessary take immediate aciton to follow up on the case. You don't seem to fall under that category yet...

Best of luck!

I totally understand how you feel right now, we have all gone through this and it is somehow painful, if you think that usually an adjudication only takes 15 minutes and the long wait depends only on the fact that there are so many petitions before yours.

Just try to relax for now, and start collecting the documents required at the interview stage. once you receive your NOA2 things will speed up incredibly and you can shorten the subsequent waiting time if you have everything at hand.

we filed middle of september and got approved the first days of january: I think you're almost there.

When my case was at Initial review: I make sure I call them everyday 6 - 7 times a day. My money was in their hands, I have to make them work for it. That was the 2nd $455.00 they ate from me. lol my first case was denied. What you can do , is to call them and ask to speak to a hiher level customer services. Trust me you will get the answer you are looking for.

When you go to the government sites and read what the possible wait times are, it can be a little disparaging. Take heart, I don't think it really takes that long (CAVEAT DEFINITELY USED IN MAKING THIS STATEMENT - see below).

While I feared a lengthy (1+ year) wait just for the Petition to be approved and passed along by USCIS, it really only took 3 months.

Amazingly, within a week, the NVC approved the package and sent notification that my fiance would shortly receive a letter from the embassy in Manila inviting her to submit her visa application.

Once the correct paperwork gets into the hands of the appropriate government agency, my experience has been that they move fairly quickly. What I found to be the greater delay factor has been -- time taken to compile a complete set of data required for submittal.

Being somewhat #######, I submitted so much information I figured it just took them the three months just to read through it. Joking aside, being prepared is the best you can do. It just took a bit longer than I wished for both of us to gather the information we needed to get through the whole process. Yes, it took my fiance a bit longer also -- because she had never done anything like this, had very little exposure to the complexity of government agencies, and we actually took additional precautions to preclude any last minute delays (which we still had -- but only about 2 weeks more of a delay).

From starting the data collection for the I-129F, G-325's , yada yada yada - to where we are now (she is at PRISM in Manila, as I type, getting her GCC, followed by going over to the CFO to get her CFO Sticker) it has taken right around a year.

So, stay busy, get Skype or Yahoo, get a good text messaging plan from your carrier, write emails, make weekly calls --all help in fighting the frustration on both sides.

Good luck.
