I agree but that's only one piece of the puzzle. Believe it or not, one of the greatest consumers of oil is our current industrial farming methods. Basically, even if you walk to work like I do and rarely use your car, your lifestyle is still heavily reliant on cheap oil.

And let's not forget all the things that are made from plastics...

I had to look up tempeh; wasn't familiar with it. Making bacon from any thing other than pigs is sacrilege; making it from something that never walked especially so

Yet the USA allows millions to immigrate legally and illegally every year without any regard to what the unemployment rate is or the impact on its citizens. What other developed country in the world would do something so stupid? What other country's citizens would put up with such stupidity forced on them through our government? We have millions unemployed and underemployed, but immigration policy remains the same. Ridiculous!

You said it. I am so sick and tired of hearing the country of immigrants rubbish, when Americans are hurting and so badly. Australia, 22 million, is reviewing their immigration policy to ensure it does not negatively affect their standard of living and quality of life. Doing so with consideration of the next 30 years and with a current unemployment rate of 5.2%.

Yet some here advocate we open up the borders [illegal and legal], simply based on ideological reasons.
