Hi All,

My wife is sponsoring me for a visa and we have filed with the Embassy based in London. We sent the DS-230 back to the Embassy some time ago and then submitted the DS-2001 at the beginning for May 2009 to confirm that I am ready for an interview.

We haven't heard anything as of yet and was wondering how long everyone else had to wait when filing from London, UK.

Thanks

2009 ? She's doing the I-130 via Direct Consular Filing to London, with DS-230 and I-864 and the other bits ?

hmmmmm

Did she move between submitting the DS-230 and now ?

Either something's got lost in the mail (the interview notice) or something else is wonky.

or was DS-230, Part I, for a K-1 visa ?

IF a DCF'd I-130, should not be more than 4 months after submitting that DS-2001. Usually within 6 weeks.

Can verify what was filed, and where, and visa type, petition type ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hey there,

We haven't moved...

We filed an I-130 application back in Sept 2009 to the London based Office and received confirmation that this element had been approved, we were then asked to complete the DS230 part 1 which we sent back by post and recently sent the DS2001 to confirm we were ready for an interview at the beginning for May 2010 but have not heard anything since. Hope that helps clear things up?

Is it worthwhile sending a letter to make sure they have received both the DS230 part 1 and DS2001 safely?

Sorry, in answer to your question - everything is being filed through the London based office.

I think I had a slight typo in my first posting "May 2009" it should have read "May 2010" but would still like to hear thoughts. It's been two months since sending the DS2001...

Thanks

Nilesh

OK - so not May 2009.

You've sent in the DS-230, part I (only) - and the DS-2001 - and no further word for 2 months ? OK - time for some inquiry then.

Have the USC Spouse call up the IV unit, fax the IV unit, email the IV unit (all three) and inquire for status. Might have a nice surprise !

Thanks - as it's being filed in London it gets passed onto the Consular's Office in London and they have only provided a postal address. I'll have to send a letter to find out if they have received everything safely, unless, anyone has an e-mail address or contact number that might speed things up?

that is strange! We sent off the DS230 (part 1 and 2) mid June and the DS2001 a few days later and received the interview date in the post today!

Have you scheduled your medical yet? I had my date when I sent off the DS2001 - maybe that speeds things up?

Hope you ll find out soon!

Wow, that is quick!

I had my medical towards the beginning of April 2010!

I will get the letter out tomorrow - I checked the US Embassy, London, website but there's no e-mail address, anyone have it to hand?

I sent a letter recorded delivery which was received by London Embassy on 12th June 2010 (based on tracking letter online) asking them to confirm receipt, I even re-enclosed both forms. I still haven't had anything back, I tried calling the operator assistance number but keep getting the recorded message saying they are busy, I don't want to keep calling the premium only to get charged heaps! Thing is the only way to e-mail them is to call the number to get a code but I can't get through!!

It surely shouldn't take this long???

You mentioned not signing part II?? On the instructions it only says to complete and send part 1 as part 2 gets completed on day of interview.

Excellent ! Which 'input method / query method' did you use, that was successful?

Well, I sent a letter first but didn't hear anything back in under two weeks, so I called the premium number to check and they confirmed they had received my paperwork but it was only processed the day before I called. I was advised that my interview would be at the beginning of October but received a letter in the post confirming the appointment is next week!

It can be a pain in the waiting, the interview? I got mine in London too,and you REALLY have to make sure everything is covered and be prepared,I thought I had everything covered, but I failed it due to some stupid tax thing from the US on my wifes earning from a certain year and I didn't have the proper document, but I ended up doing another trip to London and finally passed it after geting it sorted out.Good luck with interview.
