I'm not defending anything. And I'm curious that you haven't addressed your contradictory statements about being 24/7/365 conservative yet simultaneously holding "liberal" beliefs. I don't consider legalisation to be a liberal issue, but rather an issue of personal freedom that people across the political spectrum have embraced.

You got on my case because I found it silly and called it mental diarrhea to change one ideas because of who is in office. So I think its safe to say you are defending the idea Or is this just a case of your liberal bias over riding your ability to reason?

I did address it, right this minute I am a conservative even though I take some liberal view points. Tomorrow will be the same and day after that....

Most conservatives are for keeping marijuana illegal so to legalize it tends to be a liberal view point. Your trying to make things more complicated then they have too. Typical lefty nonsense.

I suppose much of it comes down to my own belief that one's tenets should change organically the more information one acquires. I was a right socialist when I was 17; I couldn't possibly call myself that now. Too many years in higher education and the hurly-burly of working life have mellowed that viewpoint into that of a capitalist pig (oink). I expect that my opinions will change more as the years progress, and frankly I think that's a good thing. I find being "rock solid" in anything, and claiming that one will never change no matter the circumstances, to be rather a self-defeating point of view.

Most, if not all, of my most conservative friends are even more pro-legalisation than I am. Perhaps it is a function of the circles in which I mix. I don't find any of this confusing; rather I find it most amusing.

You can't consider yourself a proper conservative if you care unable to spell the word correctly. Glenn Beck would not be pleased.

Thats all you got? My spelling?

You should know by now Im not a fan of Beck. Although that would help you to keep believing your stereotypical nonsense of conservatives.

Well, a plurality of conservatives on this forum fit that that stereotype.

i like glenn. hell, i even went to see him & carl rove speak about a week ago....yes it was almost orgasmic.

you know i lean left on some issues, do i fit the sterotypical 'conservative' you have in mind?

That goes with out saying. Nothing I have posted would suggest otherwise. The things I stand for are well rooted(as they should be) and will not change according to the political winds.

Sure things could change but if you have done your homework and understand what you stand for you will not change your mind easily nor should you.

I think your friends are the exception to the rule. I think most people would agree with me by saying its a liberal view point.

The Liberal Teachers organizations would be upset!

First I am not a conservative but I am a liberal with some conservative view points. I agree with simpson my view points do not change with the administration.

Second I am horrible at spelling, typing and grammar but believe if someone is going to make a statement like above you best proof what you write.

Third anyone that is stereotyping either side by saying they listen to certain media or entertainers is closed minded in itself and plain stupid.

Fourth best policy if someone has no information to prove their points they should remain silent, listen, read and educate themselves; they might learn whether they are right or wrong.

i don't change what i'm for or against. just saying that when dems are ruling, my conservative side seems to speak out the loudest and when repubs are ruling, my liberal side seems to speak out the loudest. i will admit that when repubs are ruling, it takes longer for my liberal side to get loud.

for the hardcore conservatives and the hardcore liberals (24/7/365), would you really want your party to rule without interruption forever?

There was a time I might have said yes but since Obama has been in office I know I wouldn't want them to be there.

Heck I am scared now with what we have in office.

OK well thats a little different than what your OP suggested and a lot more understandable.

I would hardly consider myself a hardcore and anyone that knows me would probably agree. As far as your question goes, no.
