Don't worry.

It is expected that the receipt number from the NOA1 will not work online. It is still a receipt number, just not meant to be tracked online.

The receipt number from the biometrics appointment corresponds to the CR I-91 form, and it is meant to be trackable online.

It is also normal for it to stay in Initial Review until you are finally approved.

Just to be sure, you do have a copy of the NOA1 (the paper with the receipt number that you can not track online)? That NOA1 is the extension letter for your conditional residence.

On that same NOA1, there should be a receipt date. (That would be the NOA date you put in the Visa Journey Timeline) Once 6 months have elapsed past that receipt date, you can call USCIS and ask them to put a service request on your behalf to see what the status of your application is. You can also ask to speak to an imigrations officer.

Best of luck!

Thanks,

Yes I have that NOA1 letter, and my husband carries a copy of that paper, I just called last week and they told me that my case is still under review, but it worries me because i have seeing other cases and they last 3 or four months, also if there was something pending they would let me know right?

If they are looking for further evidence, they would have sent you an RFE. When you spoke to them on the phone, they would have mentioned that as well. To be safe, you can open up a service request with them, so that you have a paper trail.

Looking at your situation with an on-going relationship and a child, I don't see any reason for panic. Just hang in there and you'll receive good news soon. If possible, place a service request. Your NOA is your extention. So you are good for now. Maybe background checks are holding up your case.

why do they take forever for background checks?, I think they should investigate all that before entering to the united states, well i am not worried about that we are just living day by day and working like someone else. but laws are laws right> :star:

Actually, background checks may be the cause but not necessarily the cause. I know that there is a phone number for the FBI that you can call and see if your background check has cleared or they are having problems with it (such as biometrics were not clear enough so they need a second biometrics appointment). It looks like depending on who's (which IO) handling your case makes a difference on how fast or slow your case gets approved.

Hang in there...
