It used to be the embassy handed out one packet (3) early on and then when the person returned it they got another one (4) now days they bundle it all into the download and you get it that way *Nigeria never really had a packet 4 I think it was one sheet.

Hi,i finally got my interview date sent to my Email box some time last week and i am currently in lagos for the police certificate and the medicals, but i did get the police certificate which states that it expires in 3 months, when i told them that my interview will be after 3 months they said that i should not worry that they do accept the police certificate that way at the embassy,so am bit scared if i should go back some time and get a new one that will be valid within my interview period.

Never go to the interview in Lagos with any certificate that may be expired. Don't give them any reason to deny or slow you up. If you really want to risk it , they shouldn't use it alone as a reason to deny you but they might not fully approve you until you get a new one. Personally I would get a new one if your interview is too far away .

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Ok I just wanted to answer a few questions:

To get package 3 for Nigerian Embassy: Email the embassy with you case #, Petitioner, and Beneficiary date of birth, and status confirmation.

There is no package 4 - After you email them you typically get a link, and your interview date

Police and Medical: Its best not to go for the reports till close to the interview (typically you cant initiate the medical anyway till you have a letter from the embassy). Though from what I have heard the medical is valid for 1 year, while the police report is valid for 3 months. Also if the beneficiary has not had any shots its probably best to start early, otherwise setup an appointment with your shot record (typically the yellow card) to show proof of shots already taken.

I had been calling DOS since July and August to find out our interview date, and they kept telling me my file is not in Lagos. I had also emailed lagos and they repiled and stated they had no record of my file. NVC stated they send my file on June 23, 2010 to Lagos. So i contacted the congressman office about a week and a half ago and they sent out an inquiry. After the inquiry the congress office request that nvc resend my paper to lagos because lagos had no record of my case and in addition it was long enough time that my paper should have been in lagos. So 2 days ago i called DOS and i was told we have an interview date of 10-08-2010 at 0700. Very happy
