HELP! I just noticed my Fiance's name is wrong on the NOAs

Any advice, I got the NOA2 on Friday-July 1st, was it already sent to NVC? I looked through all documents, our names are correct, when I first got my NOA1 I noticed they spelled my name wrong, my fiance has such a long name I always use the first two letters, Nd, so didn't notice it was wrong too!!! I had them fix mine. But now noticed they had his wrong and I didn't even notice it. Will it be sent back to Vermont and have background checks there with his first name spelled correctly (they missed one letter in his name). I am so upset now for not catching it earlier!!!!

Please help my anxiety go down and tell me I didn't royally screw this all up!!!

Anyone know delay time, gone through this at this point???

Best case they will let it slide , but I would correct it for the sake of not worrying over it. There was a woman on here a few years ago that filed for her west african partner and he reportedly got a lifetime ban over name spelling issues. Not being the actual person I am not sure of the details but it centered around Steven vs Stephen.

Any idea of delay time. I will be on the phone asap-guessing they will be closed July 5th?

No idea, but a polite call possibly followed with a letter should take care of it. If you know it is correct on the forms, just inform them that there is apparently a typo. We had a small panic with Josephs AOS when the welcome letter that a typo but the cards came through just fine.

Same thing happened to me. I even called to get a new NOA1 sent to me with the name corrected but the second one they sent still had the same mistake. I called and they told me the names in the computer were correctly spelled and not to worry. There were no delays I processing as far as I know....I got my NOA2 in 55 says I think. We are now waiting for our interview date and there were no problems so far.

I recommend you do call and make sure the names in the computer are correctly spelled just in case.

The incorrect spelling was on the NOA1 (which I didn't notice because my name was spelled incorrectly), I got that resolved and didn't notice his. Then I received the NOA2 and noticed it there, so I am not sure if it has already been sent to the NVC, and will have to be sent back to UCIS Vermont Center? This is at the NOA2 point in the K1. Of course this has to be a holiday weekend-ugh! Freaking out a bit....

Hi, the name was spelled incorrectly on the NOA2 also, but there's hasn't been a problem yet with anything on the embassy side. When I called the USCIS they said they didn't know why the name was spelled incorrectly on the NOA but that everything was correct in the computer, in all the other documents. Maybe what you can do is call the NVC and check with them to make sure the name in their database is correctly spelled. I don't want to say there won't be a problem at all because I don't know, but I would not worry too much. You have the name correctly spelled on all the forms I assume? If yes then it will be fine. You also contact the embassy or consulate office where your case is being handled after the NVC sends them the info and make sure they have the right name.
