interview - green slip

Sorry for the late update guys, I've been busy with the interview and studying.

Anyway, she got a green (not blue) slip stating that they needed a photocopy of my mom's passport. My mom had to fill out the I-864A (household member) because I've been going to school and did not make enough money. They asked either for a US passport or some proof of US citizenship from my mom.

The interview went pretty well. She waited for a couple of hours, but the interview lasted about 5 mins. Simple questions, like where I went to school, where were my parents were born.

They gave her a green slip, stating the above. They (not the interview officer, but someone there to clarify things for the applicants) said that she passed the interview, and to submit a photocopy of the passport anytime Mon-Fri 12-1 pm. Then they'll give her a pink slip and a week later, the visa.

I'll still have my fingers crossed, and will take nothing for granted until the visa is in-hand.

Has anyone else heard of a green sheet? I've only read about pink and blue. My wife said she saw some white sheets, which she thinks means a flat denial.

Again, sorry for the slow update. Busy week. (I need to go back and fill out my timeline too...)

 You're going to get a pink sheet

Yes, they do issue green sheets for additional documentation. We were issued one for visa photos and an updated I-864 and got a pink when Tuyen brought them to the consulate.

Don't place to much emphasis on the color of the slip! The content of what is on the slip is what is important.

We received a pink at Doan's interview. Then when we returned the day specified to pick up her visa she was issued a blue (to return and submit fingerprints again - the first time they were not readable when sent to the US). Then after submitting the fingerprints she was given a white slip. We were horrified. Atter all the worrying it ended up being nothing.

Make sure you make a copy of the whole passport book--just to be sure. In our petition, I only made a copy of the signature and biographical page and at the USCIS stage, I got an RFE to submit a copy of the whole book.

Great news! wait until the visa is in hand before buying the ticket... They should have given her a date to pick it up...

Thanks. They told her next Tuesday (one week from when she submitted the photocopy). I'm just trying not to take anything for granted this close to the finish.

To those due for an interview, remember to tell your significant other NOT to listen to anyone else in the waiting area. Apparently, everybody had an opinion about something, and my wife, listening to them, began to worry about needless things.

Well, she went in with a pink slip, and left with a pink slip. They told her to come back in a week. She said some people who came in with pink left with blue.

Another long week of waiting....

They told Tuyen to come back in a week to get her pink and she ended up waiting 2 more weeks. She eventually got it though.
