I understand you need a police certificate if you have lived in foreign countries - i have lived in 2 foreign countries but as a dependant of a memeber of HM Forces - would i need to get police certificate in these circumstances as any misdeamour would surely be already on your UK police certificate ?

The rule to my knowledge is if you have lived in any country (other than US) for more than 1 year (and it doesnt have to be all at same time) you need a police certificate. It also only applies if you were 16 or older.

I dont think there is any exemption for military dependants. But you could check with the embassy.

You only need a police certificate for any country that you have lived in for longer than 12 months since the age of 16. If you were under 16 when you lived abroad then you don't need to worry. If you were over 16 then you will need to contact the police force who had jurisdiction over where you lived to request a certificate.
