does anyone know how hard it is to get a visitors visa from alex, egypt? I ask bc I dont want to be the only one flying back and forth all the time. If he works in Qatar can he get a visa from there or will he have to get one from Egypt? He would be working and living in Qatar so he would have ties there. I am just wondering if it is possible for him to come visit every so often or not. We havent started any process for him to come on a visa. We dont want to do anything illegally but we want to see each other. Just a random question I guess. Thanks so much

Generally speaking, it is very difficult for an Egyptian or any other Mid Eastern male to obtain a visitor visa to the US. It's not impossible and it depends on his financial situation as well as his ability to prove ties to his home country. All he can do is try and see.

I am in agreement with je veux... The visitor from Egypt does have to show extensive proof that he will be returning to his country because of monetary and personal reasons. He will have to show a bank account with enough funds to cover any emergencies he may have while visiting the US. And if you have started any kind of visa processes on him, that will basically make it null and void of any chances of getting a visitor visa to the US.

I know it sux, but also when you do start the visa process, it'll help support your case by showing that it was you making more than one visit to see him.... they really do look at that.

Thanks guys. I just didnt want to be the only one traveling back and forth. And with lil ones to support that puts traveling back and forth on a limit. But we will make this work. I love him and he loves me. His cousin has told me that he has never been like this with any other girl he has dated. So I guess I will get a marvelous tan in the middle of winter. Wont my friends be jealous that I dont have to fake bake. LOL Thanks girls/guys

If you're planning on going to Egypt in winter don't plan on a fabulous tan, lol. It gets COLD there esp. in Alex. Even Cairo gets mighty chilly in the evening in winter. No indoor heating in most places either. Now if you're planning on Qatar, that may be a different story, I don't know anything about the climate in Qatar. :D

Don't worry about going back and forth too often if you plan on marrying. I only visited twice during our visa process and everything went well. We didn't even attempt a visitor visa since we knew that was not going to happen.

I am from northern Iowa. I laughed when he told me that it was like 60 degrees and he was cold. 60 degrees to me is spring time air. cold is when it gets below zero. and i dont think we will have to worry about me getting a tan as I will probably be spending most of my time indoors with him and his family. I really don't think I will be going to the beach as all water gets cold in the winter. Qatar is just on the other side of Saudi Arabia so I'm sure the climates are generally the same. We havent started our process yet only do to the fact I havent gone over yet. But we are definitely looking at like December and to be a January filer. I just came now so that I wasnt going crazy when I started the whole process.

LOL yeah 60 degrees is fairly nice where I'm at, also. When I was there in winter (December) it was decent during the day (mid 60s/low 70s most days) but at night it would get down into the 40s. Inside and out. I wore my usual winter clothes there. I did go to the beach in the winter but obviously didn't go swimming. It was nice because there was nearly no one there. Different story in the summer. Hot, humid, bugs, misery, and a very crowded beach.

That is kind of why we postponed the trip. I was going to go in June but when he started to get hot in May I was not sure that I wanted to be there in the hot time of the year. He kept telling me oh you will be ok and I was like no I dont do hot hot climate. Hench why I live in Iowa. The snow may suck but the summers are not as bad as say Florida. I can be covered and still be pretty comfy and not die of heat stroke. Plus he told me that the bugs would probably carry me away and I was okay thats the final straw I will wait until winter bc I can not do bugs. I hate mosquitoes. I dont want to be a human blood bank.

Hehe, there are still plenty of mosquitos and flies in the winter, too. I got ate up in winter! I was teased about the mosquitos liking the white meat better than Egyptians. There are tons more bugs in summer though. I do not handle heat well, either. It's been in the 90s here all week and I'm dying. lol. The heat and lack of A/C in most places was a killer. I had a fan practically attached to me the whole time I was there.

Nope no fan allowed. He doesnt like them. He gets sick easy if he uses a fan. I dont wanna make him sick while I am there. that would counter productive. I want him healthy as a horse so I can enjoy the week or 2 that I will be there cause I know that we will be running around like chickens with our heads cut off. Sorry, grew up on a farm.
