I visited Thailand for the first time last December and it didn't work out between the woman i went to visit and myself. I met someone in February and went back to Thailand to visit her in June. We are now compiling documents/information to apply for a K1 Visa. Can anyone tell me will my prior trip in December be a problem? How should I disclose it?

Did you file anything for the first woman?

Unless you filed something then you must disclose the fact you filed a previous petition.... you are not required to disclose your international travels on the petition. I was in Ukraine 3 times before I finally filed a petition for my now wife....

I'm not concerned with requirements. My fiancee in Thailand knows about my 1st trip prior to our meeting and she expressed concern that it might cause an issue when they see from my passport that I traveled to Thailand a few months before we ever communicated. She suggested I say it was just a vacation but I would rather answer truthfully that I came to visit someone and it did not work out.

They can't give you the 3rd degree on any prior visit to Thailand,

as the only thing they could question you on would be a prior petition.

They will probably say something like "I see you went to Thailand in December 2009."

Your answer: "Yes."

If they probe further, mention a few touristic spots you visited, nothing more.

Don't anticipate any attribution of your guilt by them because you have no guilt.

As the first interview will be for HER, they may ask HER those questions.

The response should be the same.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not much of a liar anyway so this is a much more appealing route to go.

More points if she can have the interview in English, as my wife did.

You don't "disclose" it. If a question is asked about it, a truthful answer should be given. Always be truthful and accurate.

You can admit you met other Thai women - there is no law against that.

You don't have to volunteer anything - but don't lie.

My wife has been to a consulate interview but I haven't.

However, last week we went for an INFOPASS interview to try and get her AP right away.

We were interviewed by a nice young Asian man who refused it because he confirmed

that it was already in the mail.

It turned out that when we got home it was waiting for us - not too soon as she had to

travel in 4 days and we didn't have a ticket for her yet.

I had the chance to ask several other general questions (I had a list) about the

interview documents etc. and it was a very good meeting so I think it will have

helped when we go for the AOS interview on July 20.
