Does it matter if the benficary is unemployed?

Hey there, I was just wondering does it matter if the benificary (inteneding immigrant) is unemployed? ......... I'm thinking no because it's the petitioners job to support them ..............but I don't know, any thoughts?

2010 May 12: I-130 recieved

2010 May 13: Check cashed

2010 May 12: NOA1

2010 Jun 8: Touched

2010 Jun 9: Touched ...again???

2010 Oct 26: Touched !! (after calling USCIS, and congressman 3 days earlier)

2010 Nov 1: RFE (G-325A & Photos)

2010 Nov 9: Touched

2010 Nov 10: Touched

2010 Nov 16: Touched

2010 Nov 17: Touched ... again.

2010 NOV 22: NOA2 =)

NVC

11/xx/10: NVC Assigns a Case#

11/30/10: Called NVC provided emails/ got case# & IIN #

11/30/10: hubby emailed DS3032

11/30/10: paid AOS fee

12/01/10: AOS status paid

12/06/10: hubby emailed DS3032 again..got a confirmation same day!

12/06/10: IV bill invoiced

12/07/10: DS-3032 (Choice of agent) accepted

12/10/10: mailed AOS packet!

12/15/10: pay IV bill

01/10/11: hubby mailed IV packet

02/01/11: checklist from NVC hubby has to fill out EP for montreal!

02/06/11: hubby completed and submitted EP application.

03/10/11: SIF/ case complete=)

04/12/11: Medical completed!

04/20/11: Picked up medical...passed =)

05/03/11: Interview Scheduled @ 8AM!!! =)

05/03/11: APPROVED YAY! =)

05/09/11: Visa in hand! =)

07/02/11: POE =)=)

NVC - Taking my time with it...

4/8/2010 - got NVC case # & gave them email address (~ 1 week)

4/13/2010 - Choice of Agent email from NVC (~ 5 days)

4/14/2010 - Email sent to NVC with "Choice of Agent

4/19/2010 - NVC email confirming "Choice of Agent" email (~5 days)

4/20/2010 - NVC email with AOS and IV bill

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Wow.......so the intending immigrant can just live with parents or family whatever and be an adult.....and not have to work, and every thing is okay lol ......I'm surprised lol

Well, the US government pretty much thinks that if the petitioner in the US believes that the beneficiary is worthy of moving to the US, then the US government thinks so as well, with some notable exceptions like past drug abuse, immigration transgressions, etc.

In general, requiring the beneficiary to be employed would be quite problematic. Many are students and in a lot of countries, students live with their parents. In the culture of many Latin American countries, children live with their parents even after graduating college and finding a job (I personally know many examples). In some countries, many women really are not allowed to work and therefore live with their parents until marriage. Basically, it would be impossible to make the beneficiaries adhere to American cultural standards in order to obtain a visa.

In my case, my wife currently lives with her parents, although she has been on her own in the past because her parents had to spend some time outside of her country. Why would she look for her own place, which could involve things like signing a long term lease, when she is about to move to the US?

Absolutely ! With few exceptions, beneficiary's income not evaluated. Is some exception with UK filers, where a beneficiary can 'self-sponser', but is different math, different calculations.
