Yes it does. I know firsthand because I was going crazy a week ago about the same thing. Try craig's list..I got many call backs for different posting but they wanted people full-time and some stated I needed more experience. But it's a really good site. I just got a job at a temp agency through them. Good luck!

I'm temping too - still have yet to land a permanent job in the US, although my temp job is at least the sort of job I am looking to get. At least until I can sell some books to a publisher.

You are sooo right. I have a job with a bank (that I hate) and I was looking for another job.

So I don't know how it is with other companies, but where I work I see new people every day. One catch though, they are all relatives of other employees. Its driving me crazy, seeing that all the jobs are taken by someone's sister, mother, brother, child, nephew, blah blah. I hate it when there is an opening and I apply and I find out the boss' daughter got the job. #######? I'm sooo upset as many of my coworkers are, I have an Accounting degree and here comes his daughter, just a high-school diploma and takes the job!

(Good Luck to ALL job hunters)

Thanks! Today I faxed 7 resumes, e-mailed 1 resume, left 1 phone inquiry, and sent 4 e-mail inquiries. One of the jobs called immediately after recieving the fax, but my cell phone was dead. :crying: They closed 5 minutes later, right when I arrived home. They want to set up an interview, I left them a message. Sheesh, your luck served me well! I've gone through all the papers, craigslist, and monster.com (and posted my resume there too)... so tomorrow I'm gonna pull out the yellow pages and start calling offices I think I could work in. I want this K-1 visa application in the MAIL!

As long as I don't have to majorly lie to phone customers like I do now, and don't get screamed at by my boss shaking her hands in the air above her head like I have, I should be fine. I just need to make enough money to support both my fiance and I.

It's tough for a new immigrant, for sure. Craigslist or temping may work.
