hello all

i was wondering if it is possible for a Church/Org. to file as the co-sponsor on the affidavit of support?

my family has a very large church/organization and would like to file the I-134 for my fiance.

is this possible?

if this is, does anyone think there could be any advantages of having a church on our side? could this benefit us in some way?

thanks

no, it has to be personal taxes, no buisness. it would depend on his salary. Is he a Pastor? if so your parents could be your joint sponsor with their taxes based on their salaries.

It's entirely up to the consulate whether to accept a co-sponsor, and who they will accept. However, I have never heard of any consulate accepting an 'entity' such as a business or organization as a sponsor for a K visa. There is also no provision for this in immigration law except for an employment visa.

Feel free to contact the consulate and see what they think. If they say yes I will be totally floored.

No, it has to be a person. A business organization cannot file the I-864.

I agree they cannot file the affidavit for you. The only way they can help really is for the pastor to write a letter about how he knows both of you to have a genuine relationship and how plans have been made to marry in his church, pending visa approval.
