Has anyone here ever received a hardcopy of an NOA2 and/or an RFE without receiving the text message and/or email and without seeing a touch or change in status from 'INITIAL REVIEW" on the USCIS website?

I know things can vary from case to case, consulate to consulate, but I'm really scratching my head trying to figure out what could be the problem with so many other quick approvals happening. I have what should be one of the easier cases to look at: no prior marriages for either of us, no kids (and no derivative benefit K2s), no IMBRA issues, etc.. I'm starting to wonder if there's an "undocumented" RFE waiting at the post office for my return home even though I've seen no evidence of it electronically.

I'm starting to feel lost...

Yep that happened to us. I haven't checked in a couple months, but even long after the petition was approved, visa applied for and issued, POE, wedding, AOS application and approval and green card receipt......our online status for the K-1 petition hadn't changed. I don't believe it gives false positives (as in, it doesn't usually say approved when you're not), but it is not a reliable indicator of progress either.

Thanks!

Then, I hope I have something waiting for me when I return home next week (and it's not a 25 day old RFE!)

Even better, perhaps it's already moved on past NVC and she'll receive her Packet 3 while I'm here with her (wishful thinking, for sure!)

At least now I know it's possible to be approved without even knowing it.

Thanks...

It's good to know that the online system isn't always reliable. It gives me some hope that I might have something good waiting for me in the mail tomorrow even though I've seen nothing online or in my email.

Of course, VSC still has today to deliver some good news (electronically!) before I leave tomorrow morning.

This is encouraging (and far more common than I would have thought)..

I was planning on relying on the USCIS website for any status notifications while I've been out of town but, in the future, I think I will have someone collect my mail for me when I'm away and waiting on something from the Federal Gov't!

I arrived home today and the bad news was there was no NOA2 waiting in the mail. But, the good news was there was no RFE either!

Now, it's just back to waiting which, surprisingly, is easier now that I'm not overly anxious to receive it while we're together.

Don't get me wrong, I still want my NOA2 yesterday, but the pressure is off to receive it before I come home.

Best of luck to all of us still waiting!!
