But, but, Obama the Socialist promised only the top earners (plus 250,000) would get a tax hike.

You friggin sheep bought this ####### hook line and sinker. I remember even during the campaign it was floated and I even said it here back then that this tax was going to come and no one cared then so get ready to pay up morons.

Yeah I even remember the other party tried many times to make the tax cuts permanent and I remember the Socialists killed it each time. The only way the Neocons got the tax cuts approved was to make them temporary so the Neocons were lucky to get them for 10 years. The best thing was that after the tax cuts the revenue in the Feds coffers ROSE higher. Now why was that. Well to give another history lesson here, it always has and always will. The Feds get ahold of anything there is a huge bureaucratic waste and a black hole. The people and business get a break they put it into the economy.

Of course sheep and the kool aid drinkers would never even try to understand simple economics. Keep following this moron and that party, sheep.

Don't you want to pay more taxes too?

Actually I want to pay as little taxes as possible. To do this though we need to reduce the reason we need to pay taxes though and that is reduce the Federal government. But I do want a balanced budget over anything. If we are going to ask for the Feds to be our babysitter then we need to pay for it. The main reason that the two parties are have been allowed for so long to intrude into our lives more and more is they keep coming up with programs that seem to help us and it seems good but then we really don't pay for it but pass it along to the future by deficit spending. We here in America actually don't pay as high as taxes as many Socialized countries so we don't feel it as bad so we keep electing the ones that promise to do MORE for us. If we actually paid our way as we go along like most households do then we would realize the real costs and then we can decide if we actually want these things when we are paying high taxes. Right now we pay low taxes and just let out kids and their kids, etc. pay.

We could never have a balanced budget on the Federal level as our two major parties would never allow it though.

Don't you partisan hacks ever tire????

Here is a far less hysterical article on the subject from the Wall Street Journal:

...

• Bush tax cuts. Broad-based tax cuts enacted in 2001 and 2003, including a top rate of 15% on dividends, expire at the end of this year. The top rate on income and dividends will rise to 39.6%, and the rate on capital gains to 20% from 15%. But rates also will rise for the poor and middle class, including 27 million households with income under $30,000, according to the Tax Policy Center. Lawmakers must act to preserve any of these cuts.

President Obama's budget calls for renewing the Bush cuts for taxpayers earning less than $250,000 (joint filers) or $200,000 (single). But late last month, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D., Md.) suggested that deficit-cutting might require a middle-class tax increase as well.

The bottom line: The House may address these issues before the August recess; the Senate is unlikely to. With consensus hard to come by, the economy fragile and the election approaching, some believe lawmakers will temporarily extend all the current rates.

• Alternative minimum tax. If Congress doesn't act, this tax will hit 27 million filers for the 2010 tax year instead of 4 million. Many will be from high-tax states, because the AMT disallows deductions for state and local taxes. Many also might incur penalties because their withholding or estimated payments are too low.

The bottom line: Experts think a fix will happen, perhaps in tandem with action on the Bush tax cuts. The House recently began to work on this.

The article is wrong as far as it goes because it is a political hack job, and does not reflect reality. Not sure how to put it any kinder than that. [Your OP that is.]

He's the first person I've heard that wants to pay more taxes.

Who wants to pay more taxes? I certainly don't want to end up Argentina or a third world country.

Higher taxes are the only way to pay for the bills. Not raising taxes will result in the entire country ending up a California.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

As soon as someone throws out socialist, they have lost the argument. Not to my surprise, it's you. Then like anyone with your views, you go off on some baseless tirade, without ever providing evidence of it.

The president is doing what is right, not what is popular. He analyzed the situation at hand and is making the appropriate adjustments to deal with it accordingly.

So now your avatar pays homage to a man who organized illegal aliens in this country?

Steve, here is the line ----- and you blew right past it!

This is the same guy who advocates for the entire third world to come here, then posts articles about the environment and best of all has a picture illustrating how AA were treated. I am still waiting for him to tell me how the homeless or AA living in poverty [in 2010] will benefit from illegal aliens. Or how illegal alien workers help the 7,900,000 jobs lost in America. I have a background in finance and cannot work it our for the life of me but I am sure he has it all figured out. Apparently, they pay taxes and um they buy stuff. With that in mind, we must be on the way to the next Gold-rush. Eureka!

Not too many illegal aliens in the gaming industry, as in none; therefore, what's the drama? Now flood that industry with the equivalent Indians and Chinese, also willing to work for 1/5th the salary and then come watch the cries.
