Hi!

After almost a week, I called again the NVC hotline to check for any update regarding our case. Though actually at the back of my mind, I'm expecting to hear the same lines that our case was completed June 2, 2010 and wait for 8weeks for any further instruction. I was so shocked to hear a different status: You're case was completed last June 2, 2010 and was forwarded to the US Embassy in Manila last June 28, 2010.

To make sure and clarify what I heard, I called again to talk to an operator (and I waited for 15mins since there is quite a number of callers I guess). Jenny - the operator I spoke to, who is not that much accommodating with all my questions, confirmed what the AVR told me. Then I asked if I am to expect an interview schedule anytime soon. She said, I should now call the embassy in Manila for any further inquiry. She is also not sure how the embassy in USEM Manila with contact me - whether it would be through email, phone call or snail mail.

I tried tracking our case at DHL website to check if it was already received by the USEM Manila. (I learned this through the LingChe NVC Shortcut in our wiki:D) It seems that it is expected to reach Manila later so delivery would probably on Monday (since it is already Saturday here)

Is there anybody here who experienced the same thing? If yes, did you contact USEM Manila or just waited for them to contact you? I'm actually hoping I would be given an interview schedule soon.

One thing more, I did actually write to NVC requesting for our case to be expedited, not because of an emergency but because (just as I stated in my letter) I miss my husband and it also breaks my heart seeing our 1yr old daughter looking for her dad :crying:) Do you think, this could also be a reason why our case was sent to the USEM Manila?

I'm just bothered since I know it has to be the NVC who will schedule our interview. But with what the operator told me, I have to contact Manila for any further inquiry.

Wishing, praying and hoping someone could help me. And lastly, thanks for taking the time reading my topic.

I thought Manila scheduled interviews ? You should contact Manila IV unit, as well as the DoS Hotline (# in my profile).

Ask DoS Hotline Human about case status, you are looking for 'Casefile Opened at Manila' timetick from DoS Hotline Human.

IIRC, NVC NEVER schedule interviews for Manila, Manila IV schedules interviews for Manila. (I could be wrong on this, but hei)

Give Manila a call on Tuesday, but call DoS NOW .

I recieved an email from NVC stating where, what and info about the interview schedule. I did not call US embassy Manila coz the email states the date and time of the interview so no need to call them.

My kid's interview was scheduled 3 weeks after i got the email.

really Darnell??lol!!i didnt know that Manilla embassay assigns the interview dates!I am so sorry then krazygirl may be you will hear something soon from embassay then!be optimist :)

Ya, is weird - I keep reading different reports here - many say to 'call Manila and set up appointment' and many say 'comes in from NVC' but mostly, ppl get real status from DoS Hotline (since the casefile already left NVC ) and Manila usually schedules interviews.

Things are kinda 'fuzzy' about who does what, but many ppl get positive results when they KNOW Manila IV opened the casefile (this is a status from the DoS Hotline Human, btw ) and then call into Manila IV after the casefile is opened.

FWIW, this was pretty useful for removing the fuzz, IMO - http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3238.html

DoS = Department of State - the DoS Hotline and Manila IV share data about yer casefile. DoS Hotline always knows current status, after casefile has left NVC, so if you want to know casefile status, you should call DoS Hotline, get a Human and inquire for status.

Status changes, also, so is useful to call often.
