I am have been gathering evidence for my AOS,I married a USC.We went to her bank yesterday and I was unable to add my name to her account because of no SSN,she also change her name ,though pending till she gets her SSN changed to the married name.Right now I am still a student and I opened account.I belive that I wouldnt be able to get my SSN before the interview because of the proximity. So we have resolved in adding her into my account where they wouldnt ask of this and that.Would that be okay for me to add her into my account because she is the petitioner and the sole sponsor.

The utilities bills normally come with her name.Does she needs to add my name to it or have my name replace her name on the bill??We have many utilities bills .How do I add my name to it??

Right now most of her things are changing to the married name(DL,passport and SSN).Is that a good thing that would help us during the interview

??

Having her added to your account is perfectly fine. No difference who is added to whose account ;)

Other evidence should be proof that you live together - joint lease or mortgage.

If you don't have that, maybe you can start saving some mail with both your names on it.

If you can add your name to the utility bills that would be good thing definitely.

I haven't figured out how to do that yet :P

Best bet would probably be by calling the utility company directly.

Also, don't know how long you've been married and if you filed taxes jointly.

If you did, that would another good piece of evidence.

Other evidence can be joint gym memberships, receipts from trips you've taken together, etc.

These can just be a safeguard to supplement the main pieces of evidence.

Good luck!!

It doesn't matter whose name is added to which account, just that it's a joint account.

Showing that you live at the same address really is important-a lease or a mortgage in both of your names is a strong piece of evidence.

Engineer21 listed a lot of good things-shared car or medical or other insurances are also good, or joint credit cards. Anything that shows both of your names on the same account.

When we did our interview for AOS we had no utility bills in both names-some utility companies won't even allow it, especially without SS number. Doesn't hurt to ask though.

Good luck!
