So sorry to hear this!! I really don't understand it at all. I was OK when I thought the average processing time was 3-4 months. It's not the wait (well, it is) but how can some receive such quick turnaround and others not?

Good luck to you and hope you receive good news soon. Even sooner than the rest of us!

Thank you very much. I called USCIS yesterday at the aniversary of my 5 months wait and the lady was sympathetic and nice and she put in a service request for me. I am hoping that this will yield some result.

I got my NOA1 on 04/15/10. Haven't heard nothing from USCIS yet, only have been touched once on 04/20/10. The wait is getting too frustrating specially when I hear people getting their NOA2 within a month. Should I start worrying yet? I am wondering how many more sailing in my boat? Let's pray for speedy processing

Maybe you should try giving them a call, should be easy for you to find out when you call since I am sure you have your case number or the EAC# which you can provide to the person who will be taking care of your call. Give it a try, won't hurt to ask.

Hang in there! We got our NOA1 on March 11 and I was freaking out just this morning that everyone was getting through faster, while we hadn't even received a touch! Then I got an email this afternoon that we had our NOA2! Yours is just around the corner! I know it probably doesn't make you feel too much better, but it really is coming!

Hey ryna

It may simply be a case of who's desk it's on.. they may have complex cases or simply slower than others

Kenny

This is true.. the cases are grabbed by different case workers in bunches.. if that worker is slow... out for weeks sick.. on holiday or whatever.. those cases are screwed... the person at the next desk could be flying through them...

If I may interject.... first and foremost I am waiting in line while my petition is at the VSC.

A little more information:

I've served in the USAF, I've worked government contracts and currently hold an active Top Secret level security clearance. My biological is a retired FBI agent and I am directly related to a congressman. That said I should have flown through the system one would think. I have a person who is/was helping me with the I-129 and I even asked him if I should reach out to some of my "contacts" and his answer was unequivocally NO! The reason being is you are dealing with government workers. Your case can be handed to a person who may or may not be having "one of those days". If your case should land on their desks and it has "riders" along with it they may just set it aside and move on to the next case. What can also happen is you get a person who is bucking for that promotion and needs to show someone that he/she is trying and your case gets pushed through. It's a toss up. It's the US government, they have 2 speeds.... slow and stop. People who tend to ###### and moan right out of the gate are the ones who tend to piss off the people who control our love lives during this process. It's best to sit back and wait patiently ( while remaining vigilant) as those people tend to have less problems in the government processes.

Don't be disheartened, they are trying and honestly, lots of people have tried and succeeded in pulling the wool over the eyes of the government. It sucks for all of us actual international lovers, but it's a sad fact that a few bad apples ruin it for the rest of us. Like most people have said reconcile yourself to the 5-6 month waiting time and when you get your notice sooner you will only be ecstatic vs hoping for a change every day and being let down.

Oh and something my mother told me along time ago... "A watched clock never moves".

Chin up all... we are in and line and it's all coming to us.

Just when we thought we winning the rat race... along comes a faster rat (i.e USCIS)
