So I have a little problem. I am going to have my father as my co-sponsor for my K-1 fiancee from China. My father and I are both American citizens. No problem there. My question is... on the I-134 form line 11 it asks us to state what amount will be given to her on a weekly or monthly basis. Fact is we are planing on living with my parents for a while untill we get everything settled.. even after we get married. So I really don't know how to fill out that line for both my dad and I. Because technically there is no set allwance she is going to eat and sleep at the house. After we get married I will even add her to my bank account. Which has quite a bit of money. And I also have my own income. So my point is what do they expect that we put on each of our I-134 form techinically it is not just for a set amount of time. She is here to stay. Please give me some feed back. And this is the Consulate in Guanzhou China by the way

This is the place to post your experiences or questions related to this last step before moving to the US. Topics relating to I-134's, packets sent from consulate and medical & police certificates should be posted here

xyang,

it actually states in the form that you only need to 'indicate the exact number and duration of the contributions. For example, if you intend to furnish room and board, state for how long, [...]'

we also had a co-sponsor whom we lived with for a couple of months and she just put that she would 'provide room and board until they can afford to move out' or something like that. just have your dad put the approx. length of your stay and what exactly he intends on providing for you guys (while she is on the K-1) and it should be fine. just make sure that your dad fills out the I-134 separately.

once you are married and filing for adjustment of status you will have to fill out a second affidavit anyway...

maybe Guanzhou is a little more strict when it comes to the affidavit but this is just my experience..

good luck!
