Hi!

My name's Kris. I've been a lurker at this forum for over a year but didn't join till we finally started to get into the paperwork and filing it! I'm trying to not get overwhelmed by all of it! So far this forum has been a HUGE help to me though. :) I'm grateful to have it as a resource.

So a bit about me, I'm currently an illustrator for a children's book series, working long distance. I met my husband online in 2005, he found me because of my artwork. Took a while to break down my wall but eventually he did and we became great friends and eventually lovers. I came to visit him here in Belgium in 2008. We hit it off so well that we haven't been apart since. I took him to visit the states in the spring 2009 and while we were there we decided to get hitched up at Lake Tahoe. We came back to Belgium and have been living here since last summer. Even though he was only in the US for a couple months, my husband already considers it his home, and we are both very eager to come back!

I'm eager to hear more experiences from different people and also get some of my questions answered.

So I'll ask a couple now.

On the affidavit of support, I was unemployed up until March, and right now am only under a contract and have not been paid yet, so I didn't have to file for taxes as I didn't make enough money in the last two years. Now I asked the woman at the consulate what to put on the paper but I've clean forgotten where she said to put it and how to word it. (I do have a co-sponsor)

So how should I say that I didn't make enough money to file for taxes and on what page? If I list my current employment they ask how much I make, but I haven't an income from the job yet since it's a pay after all work is done, how do I go about filling out that section?

Thanks!!!
