My fiance lives in Beirut, Lebanon right now. Her residency there expires in October and might be moving to Muscat, Oman if they don't renew it.

What should I put for "Your fiancé(e) will apply for a visa abroad at the American embassy or consulate at:"?

I wish i could put both with an "or" between them. Has anyone else filed a 129-f and had their fiance move to another country in the process? Do i just send them a form of some sort for the address/location change?

Any help is much appreciated. Trying to get the app out soon.

Thanks,

Donny

I actually asked a very similar question when we were going through the I129-F phase. I called USCIS, myself, and asked what would be required to change Lizeth's consular to a different country. The man on the phone explained that it is possible to do. The sooner you know the better. He told me that I would have to submit Form I-824.

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-824.pdf

In "Part 2. Reason for Request," you would check Box B where you would fill in the blank with the name of the new US Embassy handling the visa. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

BE ADVISED: Form I-824 comes with a hefty filing fee of $340.

Hope this helps

it does help thank you. I've been informed by her brother (whom she'll moving in with in Oman) that i should put Muscat Oman. They can do all that's needed there. So now i'll just have to update her address when the time comes. Hope that isn't too difficult.

Does anyone for see a problem with what i'm doing? Putting her Beirut, Lebanon address on the forms, and her Visa app location as Muscat, Oman? It's in all honesty and hopefully the easiest way.

Honestly, if you know for a fact that she will be moving to Oman and you are certain of her address there, I don't see any reason why you can't use her new address now.

Something to consider...

Eventually, she will need to obtain her official police record(s) from everywhere she has lived. You might want to encourage her to get her record from Beirut, Lebanon prior to moving to Muscat, Oman. From what I've read about other people's experiences, obtaining police records from other countries can be time consuming when they don't live there any longer.

we have already started getting the police reports. we were going to try and get things done hopefully before her residency expires in october. a few things have led to delays so that isn't going to happen. that's quite an interesting suggestion about using the Oman address now. I'll talk it over with her now. I'm just concerned if things process fast and she is still in lebanon when she needs to be at an interview in Oman. Then again it's less than 4 months away that her residency expires.

thanks again!

Understand that I can't really speak with any real authority about the Embassy in Lebanon or Oman. We started our process back in late February and her interview date is 2 weeks away. Since we've begun this entire process, Lizeth has not received one single piece of mail from anywhere! The NOA's, and everything from the NVC, up to her packet 4 from the Bolivian Embassy has always come to me either through USPS or email. Keep in mind that every country likes to do things there own way and you might benefit from contacting the Embassy in country to get more solid advice.
