How is it ignorant?

He's right. If you're not an illegal and you have your ID with you, you have NOTHING to worry about. It's really simple...

Yes you do. If you happen to be hispanic and get pulled over, you will need to not only have your required driver's license and proof of insurance, but you will also need to carry some sort of proof of your legal status in this country. Even then, if the officer suspects that it is a forgery, you can still go to jail for a couple of days until it is all cleared up. It's not like it hasn't ALREADY happened.

I have carried my ID since I was 14

Never thought of not carrying it.

And if you are driving a car and have no ID ????

Thats the beauty of other states laws, they check immigration upon arrest. Therefore if you have no license while driving and are caught you can be arrested and checked.

However, outside of a car (or on a bike in some states) the law is no ID required. I personally walk to work everyday and carry no wallet at all.

and this is not a personal attack

Report it if you think so.

How about some proof that this has already happened along with what happened to the authorities that did this.

Pretty sure it has happened even before the AZ law.

Yes there have been numerous racial profiling issues under 287g despite the wording that there should be none.

There was a job for which I qualified, or maybe overqualified, with a decent salary(6 figure) but inasmuch as it is Arizona, I'm not considering it. There are 49 other states where my (Russian immigrant) wife will feel less threatened.

Who's threatening her?

Why it has to be Hispanic or signs in Spanish? are Latinos the only illegal minority in this country? but yet, when the police office stops a a vehicle "due to traffic violation" driven by a Latin looking guy it makes it ok and not racially prejudiced.

DO you enjoy making stuff up as you go along? Seriously?

The law does nothing of the sorts and this is not a common practice.

There's always nut cops out there. Hell, I went off on a rant the other day about nut cops. That's not the standard though in any way, shape, or form. To say otherwise is completely dishonest.

He's probably referring to the Hispanic guy who was held by ICE for 3 days because they weren't convinced by his birth certificate.

That'll be the one where you said it was fine and dandy to commit acts of vandalism and assault the police guarding a summit of world leaders.

So he was stereotyping all cops in that instance.
