Good morning, I need to know how do I go about canceling my soon to be x husband petition, he has a blue slip interview coming up on 7/13 and I'm getting ready to call the Jm Embassy to cancel that appointment as well. I don't feel in my heart that's he's ready. When we 1st met the way he acts now he wasn't acting that way so I'm going to quick while I'm ahead. I have 2 sons that are why more mature than he is and I don't have time to baby sit no grown man. I have a business to run and 3 kids to raise and if your mind is not ready for it why press on and set yourself up for failure in the long run. I hope we could remine friends but as for this marriage it's over. He does not agree with it, but it is what it is. I can't and won't keep repeating myself, I have wasted to much time and money on this whole process and now you decide to show your true colors and question who I serve. I put no man before my God or my children. He's a nice person but just not right for me. His faimly is very disappointed in him and his actions but let another women deal with him in his bad behavior. I just hate for him to come over here and I have to put him out so why go through all the drama. Thanks in advance for you positive feedback.

BLESS ME INDEED!!!!

i don't know the answer, but im sure you will get it soon..

i just wanted to say im sorry about what has happened and the time that you have put into this relationship..i know firsthand the disappointment of having to end a marriage. I do believe everything happens for a reason and hope u can find comfort in whatever you learned or got out of the relationship.. as well as thank God he showed you the light before YEARS went by.. you sound very strong and full of faith, so there is no stopping you.. BE BLESSED!!

Posted in the wrong forum, but anyhow...

First, send an email to the embassy. Be sure to include your case number. State that you are withdrawing your petition and affidavit of support, and that a written letter will be forthcoming. You don't have to give them a long winded story. Just say the relationship collapsed, and you will be filing for a divorce. An email is enough for some consulates. Others want a written statement. Hopefully, the email alone will be enough to get them to hold off on any further processing. Follow up with a letter stating the same thing. Be sure you sign the letter (you don't need to get it notarized). Send a second signed letter to the USCIS service center, including both your USCIS case number and your embassy case number.

Follow up with the embassy to confirm that they received your email and your letter.

Be aware that withdrawing the petition is final. You can't change your mind later and decide you want to resurrect the petition. You'd have to start over.

I'm truly sorry to hear this and although I don't have any advice as to how to go about cancelling your petition, I did want to encourage you and wish you the best in whatever you decide to do. Only you know what the right move is for your future and if something doesn't feel right, you have to go from there. Good luck and God bless you-pray about it and God will direct you.

Moved from AOS forum to Embassy forum - more related to topic posted.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.
