Adress change

Hi everybody,

I'm getting started to fill out all the papers for the AOS/EAD. I'm getting married in 2 weeks so I will have everything done by then. My question is, my fiance bought a house and we going to move in soon, when we file the papers should we just write the new adress on it or do I have to file an other form for adress change.

Would be great if somebody could help me!

If I were you I would put the address of your new house so that all your AOS correspondance goes there. You do still have to do an address change though. Will you be moving before or after you file AOS? If you move before, the address change is simpler, but if you move after, you've got a couple extra forms to send in (like the I865).

How "soon do you plan on moving in? Is the house sale complete? Write the New address as long as you are able to receive mail there, you dont want anything returned back to USCIS.

be sure to have your address changed at post offcie and file using the new Address. Or wait to file until you are moved.

Submitting a Change of address could delay your case up to a month.

we reciving mail already at the house, just not living there yet...so I was wondering if I could just write the new adress down on all the forms and don;t have to send an address change with it...

yes, write the NEW address down on all forms.

Also your G325-A it asks last 5 years adresses be sure to put the new address as the most recent residancy!

When you set up utilities there be sure to have both names put on the accounts , this further establishes your marriage as Bona Fida legit. When USICS send interview letter they will want to see this evidence.

For sure! Ar-11 i sonly if you have submitted your AOS with a different address than you currently reside, file AOs with New address no need for AR-11, AR-11 will only delay your case

You can use the new address on the forms to change your *mailing address* with the Service.

You are still obligated to file AR-11 to report your whereabouts. Details in the FAQ section of uscis.gov

You DO still have to file an AR-11. You put on your K1 where you would be living when you moved to the US. That address is now changing and you have to let them know - they need to know where you are living at all times.

According to the USCIS requirements, ANY ALIEN has to report change of address using AR-11.

In other words, you have to report change of address within 10 days of moving.

You could send in AR-11, then file AOS.

It is a misdemeanor crime of willfully fail to provide the USCIS with a written notice of address change (Form AR-11) within 10 days after remaining in the United States for 30 days or more. Individuals being convicted, including the parent or the legal guardian of an alien under age 14 who is required to give notice, can be fined up to $200 or imprisoned up to 30 days or a combination of both. Individuals may also be deported the United States, ref. INA § 266(B). The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) run a “Special Registration” program where individuals from certain countries go through additional security steps to confirm their change of address while in the United States. Nationalities and procedures are included in this information guide.

Notice of change of address applies to:

Nonimmigrant visa holders (such as F-1, H1B, etc.)

Green Card holders (permanent United States residents)

correct, AR-11 gets sent to London Kentucky.

Your hubby may also have to do the I-865 address change form. When I got my K3 we had a different address on the application than we had on the petitions, when I got to POE they told me we had to change address, even tho I'd be applying for AOS as soon as I arrived. And even tho he had not even done an I-864 yet.

It probably wouldn't hurt to do them all and include them with AOS package.
