We just received the welcome letter for hubby on the 16th...hopefully green card and SSN will be on its way soon too....

happy to hear that Gina finally received her greencard....take care every one!

Card production order e-mail received...hopefully green card will be here soon. Especially the SSN.....so frustrating...

ok so it IS about 5 weeks since PoE that you receive the welcome letter. we still havent rec'd it; plan on calling the usci-diots today. the SSN thing is def frurstrating - my wife has a potential job interview sometime this week...i wonder if it'll be ok that we tell them that we've applied for the card and it will be here in 2-3 weeks...

ok so it IS about 5 weeks since PoE that you receive the welcome letter. we still havent rec'd it; plan on calling the usci-diots today. the SSN thing is def frurstrating - my wife has a potential job interview sometime this week...i wonder if it'll be ok that we tell them that we've applied for the card and it will be here in 2-3 weeks...

Well my POE was June 2nd and still nothing. I think she may be able to start the new job and give the SSN later when she receives the card. I have a feeling that if you never had a SSN is much easier and fast to get one. I'm updating mine since I had one from my J1 visa and I went to the office on June 11th to have it updated and still nothing. I think they have to check with USCIS first to see if they can really take the 'unauthorized to work' restriction, which is silly because she saw on my visa that I am authorized to work.

Anyway, hope your wife receives her card soon. I'll let you guys know if I get something on the mail this week. I already made an infopass appointment for next Tuesday. I'm really annoyed.

Did you get her an ITIN # to file your taxes married, filed jointly? She can use that, until her SS card ets there.

sounds like a good idea. no when i filed earlier htis year, i filed as married, but with the single option, so didnt get an ITIN#. how would i get one of these? Thanks
