I already had a prior SSN--I just had to ask them to remove the 'VALID WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION' annotation on it.

I made the request in person at the local SS office, 15 days after POE, since I couldn't remember what I'd marked on the DS230.

I finally received it on Friday (7/9).

03/27/2009: Engaged in Ithaca, New York.
08/17/2009: Wedding in Calcutta, India.
09/29/2009: I-130 NOA1
01/25/2010: I-130 NOA2
03/23/2010: Case completed.
05/12/2010: CR-1 interview at Mumbai, India.
05/20/2010: US Entry, Chicago.
03/01/2012: ROC NOA1.
03/26/2012: Biometrics completed.
12/07/2012: 10 year card production ordered.

09/25/2013: N-400 NOA1

10/16/2013: Biometrics completed

July 30, 2010 - Received the Green Card after receiving 4 welcome letters! USCIS see ya later!

What about the rest of you guys who went in person to apply for your SSNs (and had previously applied for it in your ds-230s)? did you just go in and apply for a new card?

04-29-2010: INTERVIEW ASSIGNED FOR JUNE 10TH IN CHENNAI CONSULATE, INDIA; 06-10-2010: INTERVIEW - VISA APPROVED!!!!!
06-18-2010: Entered US - NEW YORK CITY and 08-16-2010: GC received! (nearly 2 months after PoE) woo hoo!
AOS for permanent 10 yr green card:

04-02-2012: NOA of I-751 and 1 yr extension of temp green card

05-03-2012: Biometrics appointment

12-18-2012: 10 yr Green card approved; 12-22-2012: Green card rec'd

I went on the 11th to apply for a replacement one and I still havent received it yet.

Ok,so I check my USCIS case-status todaand it's no longer Document Production, but Post-Decision activity.. It also says they mailed me a notice on July 12th (today).

What are they doing over there???

I'm guessing I'm getting a second Welcome Letter just like you did Sachi?!

I'm just so over all this BS!

This it what it says..

"Post-Decision Activity

On July 12, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this OS155A IMMIGRANT VISA AND ALIEN REGISTRATION. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations."

Yup, same thing happened to me. I got "Document Production" on July 1 and on July 8, it went back to 'Post-Decision Activity" after I received my second welcome notification.

They told me to make an INFOPass too.

It took me 7.5 weeks from POE to receive everything.

I wouldn't worry just yet. Have you spoken to an actual officer?

When I called she got my info and transferred me to another operator. She got my alien number and everything, then told me to make a infopass. I asked her why, if I wasnt in the system yet, and she told me that is not that I wasn't in the system is that it's been more than 30 days so it would be good if I go in person to the office to check what's going on.

It's been 6 weeks now. I don't mind waiting, (I mean, I do a little bit haha) but I just want to make sure everything is in order.

I've been working temporarily as a nanny, so I don't really have too much free time anymore. I'll have some next week though, so I wonder if it would do any good to drive 40 minutes to the USCIS office or if is just a waste of time. :blink:
