HI guys, just called USCIS costumer service and the lady told me to make a infopass appointment since it's been more than 30 days I POEd.

Argh! After all the thousands double checks I did with my paperwork, I still have to go there to make sure they did their job right?

My POE was 1 month and a week ago. I wonder what's the average people are receiving their GC/welcome letter after POE? What if we do a follow up list? Sachi, the organizer, where are you?

I'll try to start so you guys can add your infos:

Mrs. Wife - POEd June 2nd - Didn't receive anything yet.

Sachinky - Received Welcome letter 33 days after POE.

Yohino - Received Welcome letter 31 days after POE.

CR-1 Journey - California Service Center

I received mine 39 days after POE, actually.

POE: 05/20. Received 'welcome letter' on 6/28, dated 06/22. Card production ordered on July 1.

Still waiting for the GC in the mail.

Hon, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Give it another 2 weeks. See if you can get through to an actual officer instead of a customer representative. She was the only one who gave me any useful information.

Vivek, SPSguy, Tharnsur, M&ME all received their welcome letters and GC in a month's time.

Doctor M, I believe is still waiting. So is Bobobo. I'll see if I can find the dates.

Sachinky - Received Welcome letter 33 days after POE.

Yohino - Received Welcome letter 31 days after POE.

Helloooo lovely ladies! My little alien POEd June 4, got the welcome letter....July 7(ish) and today the website is changed to...

"Document production or Oath Ceremony

On July 8, 2010, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

Will let you know when we get anything in the mail. He got his SScard last week in the mail as well. But after not getting it after 3 weeks, he re-applied for a new one at the end of June.....so maybe that kicked the GC into production? Don't know, life it good!! He's taking his CA driver's license test as we speak and will be working on his professional licenses ASAP next week....We actually went to look at some houses to buy too, scary! I can't wait for the World Cup to be over so he will stop acting like a drooling zombie staring at the TV   At least he mows the lawn and waters the garden during commercials

Congrats everyone on the updates.....remember our lives 2 months ago?

how's this for comic relief - back in feb/march, i had written to the uscis ombudsman to look into my case, since it was coming up on the 5 month mark and still had not gotten the 1-130 approval. i just received a letter in the mail last week from the ombudsman saying that the uscis had told them that my i-130 case had been approved and that i should contact the NVC for further information (haha). imagine how funny this was when my wife, the beneficiary who's already in the country with the visa, was the one who opened the letter! stupid uscis :bonk:

same thing with senator gillibrand of new york - i had tapped into their office as well to help with the i-130 petition. i get a call last week from their office telling me that my I-130 had been approved, to which I said, thanks I know. My WIFE, who's now in the country, also thanks you for your prompt attention! oh well...i guess it'll be election time soon and perhaps the good senator is going after all the votes she can get!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Just checked the mail, I got my SSN!!!

6 days after my visit to the Social Security Office, that's awesome! They said 7-10 so I was not expecting anything before the holiday!

My husbands POE is on July 6th and he will be coming in thru Chicago! I have read the reviews on Chicago and it sounds like he should be fine and no long waits (hopefully lol)I was wondering his final destination is Seattle so will he have to get his luggage in Chicago and then recheck them to Seattle or will he be able to just go thru customes and then straight onto his connecting flight? Thanks for starting this thread im very interested in hearing everyones first entry experiences. Good luck to everyone :D

Sooo. Here's news at my end. I just got a job at a local community bank here in Michigan and was supposed to start work this week. However, Mr. Sachinky interviewed with a basketball team this past weekend and they faxed him a job offer we can't refuse. So now, we're moving to NEW MEXICO in two weeks time. I don't whether to laugh or cry. I hate moving! I was just settling in here!

Sorry to hear you all have to move again but yet Congrads on his job offer!

Thanks, everyone for all your good wishes. I'll admit I was a bit apprehensive but now I'm looking forward to making the trip down there.

And to clarify, Mr. Sachinky's NOT a basketball player. He has a degree in Sport Management with a Marketing concentration -- the position is for the Director of Marketing.

Or something. I should find out the details.

I received mine 39 days after POE, actually.

Doctor M, I believe is still waiting. So is Bobobo. I'll see if I can find the dates.

i'm waiting too - PoE was june 18th. called up uscis on wed and the drone on the other end said to give it at least 30 days to receive the welcome letter...actually i'm not as concerned about the GC as I am about the SSN. my wife's starting to field job calls and having an SSN in hand is more important, job wise. the CR-1 visa in the passport serves as a temp I-551 anyway, so no worries there...

I received another Welcome Letter today (07/10) -- this one has a receipt date of June 22, and a notice date of July 1. When I sign into the USCIS site now I get a message saying they approved my alien registration petition on July 8.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 'CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED ON JULY 1' MESSAGE?

Earlier receipt and notice date were both June 22, I received it on June 28 and received a text saying GC production on July 1.

Thanks for all your good wishes guys! We're looking to move on July 25.

yikes! which is the real PoE? I would go with whatever the real one is. Btw, when you applied for your SSN, did you apply for a new one, or a replacement one? also i cant seem to remember if you explained what the deal was to the SS people or not - ie that you had applied for your SSN in the ds-230 and it hadnt come in yet, so you're reapplying? me and Soni (my wife) are thinking of going to the SSN since she's starting to field job calls and not wait for the card to come in...
