Hi everyone!

I just arrived in the U.S. 2 hours ago...the POE in Honolulu was very smooth... Only me and the other guy was doing the POE... so it only took 30 minutes...

But I had one problem... the Officer asked me to give her the X-ray BUT it was in my suitcase so I had to go downstairs to find my suitcase to get it and go back upstairs and give it to her with the other security staff...the Embassy said I didn't have to bring it.

Well everything else was okay and smooth...

It's really weird that they asked you for your x-rays. I even asked the officer if he wanted them and he told me , NO- what would I do with them? (he said it in a funny/nice way but it's hard to portrai that in words, haha)

I asked, then why do I have them? And he said to give to my doctor here in the US.

Thanks Nat, it's so weird you haven't gotten anything! There is no consistency in this process, not even at this stage! I mean, at this point it should be! I hope you get something soon!

Vanessa, I hope you guys get to be reunited soon!

that's wierd - our guy at JFK leafed thru our docs, couldnt find the medical report (! apparently the wonderful embassy at Chennai forgot to put it in when they assembled the CR-1 visa package) and then casually remarked "guess it doesnt matter all that much." he then asked my wife "did the doctor tell you anything? do you have any kinds of diseases or anything?" my wife said "no nothing like that at all". he then stamped the passport and sent us on our way. so i dont know how seriously these guys take this stuff; probably figure that the only way you can get to this stage is to have a clean bill of health...

so it had been over 3 weeks (PoE june 18th) and i figured that i'd call the idiots at the uscis and ax (heheh) them where my wife's GC was. they basically told me to give it 30 days to get the welcome letter. i'm wondering if i should do the same for the SS# too...its not an imminent need as of yet (i was able to adjust my payroll taxes and get less money taken out and all w/o my wife's SSN), but my wife is starting to field job offer calls...

other than the passport CR-1, what other docs did you guys have to present to the SSN? birth cert? i have started adding my wife's names to all my utility bills (phone, electric, gas); that way she can show proof of residence...

Thanks!

How are you feeling? Just a few days left until your 15 minutes of fame!!

Still not nervous, I figure that will hit when I am on the plane, worrying about if I have everything with me that we will need! (Which is really funny, since Hubby has all the originals, mine are just copies, and additonal proof of an ongoing bonifide relationship). I fly to Montreal tomorrow, Hubby is there already, he did his medical yesterday.
