Hey guys, i need your suggestions here.I am in US since 10th of Sept, i now have a SSN and will start a new job tomorrow.Thing is, i did not receive any welcome letter nor GC yet and we moved out about two weeks ago.My brother in law checks the mail there for me so he keeps an eye on anything addressed to me, however we are thinking to better change my mailing address to the one we currently live at.So my question is, how do i change my address, and is it USCIS that i need to contact about this and any GC related questions ? Thanks

You'll file an AR-11 online, you can find it on the USCIS website, and then your sponsor has to file an I-865, which has to be snail mailed.

Questions about your GC will be asked to USCIS. But as always, don't expect them to know anything,haha!

05-03-2010 - Email given to the NVC

05-04-2010 - AOS bill and Agent forms received by email

05-04-2010 - Email DS 3032

05-04-2010 - Paid AOS Bill Online;

05-05-2010 - AOS Bill Status: PAID;

05-05-2010 - IV Bill Received by email;

05-05-2010 - Paid IV Bill Online;

I called USCIS today, told them i did not receive a welcome letter yet and that i moved out from the location they have on file.Lady on the phone said i better wait 3 months before calling them again, and they will do the change of address,because there is no point in filing AR-11, that only is letting immigration know that i moved (wth?!) . So should i just ignore that and file for the change of address online? Once i do that, is it actually possible that they will send my GC at my current address?

NVC:
04-29-2010: INTERVIEW ASSIGNED FOR JUNE 10TH IN CHENNAI CONSULATE, INDIA; 06-10-2010: INTERVIEW - VISA APPROVED!!!!!
06-18-2010: Entered US - NEW YORK CITY and 08-16-2010: GC received! (nearly 2 months after PoE) woo hoo!
AOS for permanent 10 yr green card:

04-02-2012: NOA of I-751 and 1 yr extension of temp green card

05-03-2012: Biometrics appointment

12-18-2012: 10 yr Green card approved; 12-22-2012: Green card rec'd

N-400 citizenship:

Son had POE on 10/3/10. We still have nothing in the mail, no welcome letter or anything. Went to the local social security office and applied for his card. should arrive in 2 weeks. Now to deal with USCIS if the PR card does not come in the next month. Please card come :lol:

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that Hubby landed October 31st! We have had a great week, so much fun catching up. Now I guess I'm in line for the whole social security and green card thing.

It feels good... alrigh?...

I have about a week... and I think that I'm leaving in a dream.... now waiting for my wife and kids..

by the way... I got my social today... and tomorrow I start to work...

Congratulations Aneudy! It really feels good. So it took you almost 2 months after approval to get your visa as well huh? I don't know what is wrong with these people. But it doesn't matter now! You're here!

You already got your social too? That is impressive. I see you said "received auto SSN" Does that mean it was the one that came automatically from what you completed on the Visa application?
