Thank you! Do you know the name of the letter or the form number at all? Or is it just an eligibility to work form? We wouldn't care either if they had to delay the paychecks until he gets his number. It would just be great to let him go for it on the job search. But, we're in Arizona so we have special immigration laws where companies can get into real trouble if they hire anyone who is illegal so I don't know anyone here would be willing or not. We'll have to see.

I also see on your signature that your wife's alien registration number is in the system. How did you find that out? By calling USCIS?

yup - just call USCIS - if they DONT give you a blank stare (ie, the phone version of a blank stare), and ask you to verify names, DOB etc, then you're in the system (of course you can confirm by asking them). your husband will need to be there (or he can call them himself) in case you're calling on his behalf (or perhaps phone conference him in may also work), cuz they wanna make sure they're speaking to the right folks (of course taht can totally be faked, but whatever)...

i dont recall the form # - i think it was just one of their standard form letters which did specifically state that she could work whiel she was waiting. although with being in AZ and all, yikes! make sure your hubby's carrying his passport w/ the visa in it all the time; dont know what kind of excuse the cops migth have to ask him his papers...

Ok, we just called the social security's 800 number and they said his number is not yet in the system. I asked about the form to see if I could get the form number for that letter but they didn't know either. I asked why they didn't give us that letter the first time we went and the lady said that we could have asked for it then. I said that I didn't know about it then! :bonk:

Hey guys!

Funniest thing happened the other day, I think it was saturday afternoon. My phone rings and it's a completely unknown number ( I was like, who has my number?) So I pick up and it's this automated call from a senator in California ( I have a Cali number) calling to ask me some questions.

The automated voice of this senator asked like 15ish Q's, then a pause for me to answer Yes or No. It was about everything from Arizona Laws to Pro-life to the Oil-spill to if I was registered to vote (offcourse I'm not,haha). It was funny. Just wanted to share!

I hope all of you are able to get all your stuff soon!

And Nat - I also hope they feel stupid now,haha!
