Hi,

We sent in the I-751 application on June 22 and received the certified card back saying it was received in California

on June 24. The check was cleared on June 28 and it appears that we can't check the status online without a receipt number

which we have not received. If we don't receive that letter soon is there a way to check to see the status without the receipt number?

Thanks,

Gretchen

I know that some people were able to call USCIS and get a receipt number. However, the receipt number on the NOA letter will not work, and you still have to wait until you receive your biometrics appointment which will have the receipt number that actually works.

Hopefully it will arrive in the next few days. From your timeline it looks like it took about 12 days from when you sent the package until you received the letter, although

ours went to California. If it doesn't arrive by early next week, I will try to find a phone number to contact them.

Thanks,

Gretchen

You won't be able to use the receipt number in the NOA1 (when it arrives) to track your case status. It seems that when the Biometrics Appointment Letter is issued, that has the proper receipt number to track your case.

That being said, you can absolutely call USCIS and report that you have not received an I-797C, Notice of Action(NOA1). I am not sure what the minimum wait time is for that before they will put in a service request on your behalf. For the Biometrics letter, it is 30 days after the NOA1.

Best of luck!
