No. Your AP does not overcome your overstay. If you leave the US then an automatic ban will kick in, and you won't be able to return for 10 years. DO NOT LEAVE THE US until you receive your green card.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

Agree with the others. Your AP approval was an oversight. DO NOT leave the US until you have your greencard.

** moved from "Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from Family Based Visas" to " Working & Traveling During US Immigration" as this is relating to travel prior to getting your GC**

Also, please note you are adjusting from a B2 visa and therefore your AOS forum is here: Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas

Absolutely NOT. If you step foot outside the u.s without a greencard, you are done for 10 years. Don't forget you overstayed for 5 years and are due for a 10 year ban if you set the clock by leaving. AP's are approved for anybody who applies for it so just because you got approved doesn't mean you're in the clear. Stay put till you get your card. I'm sure you can wait another 6 months for the card. Hope your process goes quick so you can go visit home.
