mandaNchris,

Has anyone started looking at the AOS stuff? Do you guys think we should start a topic to keep track and help each other with that part too?

Good idea Vero. I have just started looking into AOS and the list of required documents is really intimidating. It's like applying for the K1 all over again! I am going to start working on it this week. Unfortunately, in LA county it takes extra long to receive our marriage certificate, so I should have a couple of extra weeks to put together the package. I'll let you know how it goes.

Congrats again to all of the approved!!!! I am so happy for every single one of you. It's amazing how far we have all come!

AOS

POE @ Toronto Pearson - 08/12/10

Civil Ceremony - 08/27/10

Applied for SSN in married name - 09/06/10 (I was told it will take 4 weeks to get the background check cleared and an additional 2 weeks to receive my card)

AOS/EAD/AP sent with FedEx - 09/25/10

E-Notice From Chicago - 10/05/10

I-797C, NOA1 Received - 10/08/10

SSN card received (FINALLY!)- 10/23/10

Biometrics appointment - 10/28/10

EAD Approved - 11/19/10 (USCIS Website Notice)

AP Approved & Received - 11/22/10

EAD Received- 11/23/10

Interview - 02/07/11 APPROVED!

I am now a U.S. Permanent Resident!!

My K1 Journey can be found on the 'About Me' page

Great idea I third that! Once I get down to Cali next week I'll likely be starting to work on all that paperwork so that as soon as we get our marriage certificate at the end of September/early October we can attack the AOS!!

I'm not flying. We will be driving. POEing at the detroit/windsor bridge. They seem to be doing a lot of POEing recently so they will be up to date with it and hopefully by the time I cross it will go super fast lol

Life is like a roller coaster. Hold on tight and enjoy the ride!

Hey fellow Vj'ers'

We don't have an interview date yet, I would settle at this point for p4! At anyrate when the poe time comes, and it will come, gosh darn it!; We will be driving NB Canada to Maine. We typically cross at the tiny border in Lincoln (close to McAdam) but I am wondering your input on this as it is such a small border...will ther be a long delay, perhaps b/c of their lack doing this kind of paperwork. It entices us because there is never any wait times and the way we always travel. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks Much

You know, I think that it really doesn't matter where you cross... I'm sure staff move around a lot from border stations to another... You just have to make sure they do what is needed for your AOS after... I posted a question on here, as to what exactly you need to make sure they do at POE... Look it up, I got great answers... And worse comes to worse, you'll probably have a little wait if someone doesn't know what to do exactly and has to ask someone else...
