I know charles! is being serious and I'm pretty sure the guy from Alaska is as well.

As for me... well, I'm heading to my couch right now. Wifey's kind of tipsy and I'd much rather sleep on my sofa than with a half-drunk, half-naked crazy woman.

Spoken like a true married guy...

And with that, and I'm sorry Slim, I'm glad Anna doesn't drink. I don't miss those nights at all.

It can be all fun and nekkid craziness, until the arguments start.

And.

Am I serious? Yeah, I'm serious. I don't know if some of you have been married before or not. I have, 12 years... There are some nights when you'd had enough of the bickering, enough of either or ones own intoxication to know that sleeping will not be happening if you're in the same bed. Sometimes it's not even a matter of sleeping. You can call it midnight combat, silent or not. I hated it. I'd much rather solve the problem than "sleep on it". But when the other side won't reason, you have your couch. It's like the cold side of the pillow extended down the whole side of your body. Just what you need in the heat of "battle". Something cool and relaxing that's away from the front lines.

With that, I really hope no one has to utilize said couch. But at the same time, know when to pick those battles and know when you have your clothed ally to comfort you because continuing the trench warfare might result in who knows what the next day. It can be your second bedroom that's closer to the kitchen.

There is nothing wrong with utilizing it. Some other reasons to use it are the bedroom is too damn hot. We all know how our Russian SO's love the heat. I'm from Alaska... I could sleep on an ice burg in my flannel jammies. Sometimes I don't want her to get too cold, so I will excuse myself to cool off.... on that always cool couch.

Couches are multipurpose. If you're buying a new one, make sure you try it out by laying on it first, you'll be much happier later. ;)

Oh, man, you hit that one on the head. I'd have the bedroom windows open in winter if it was my call. Instead, I'm begging just to turn on the A/C to 80 when it's swelteringly hot outside...

Is this about alcoholism or marital dysfunction? I won't ever go to a couch. I sleep in my bed, so issues need to get handled. A little anger won't prevent sleep...a marital disaster will. That means leaving the home, not hiding out on a couch.

#######!! I started reading this from the beginning, and got through about thirty posts before I saw the date. :jest: What is some drive by from the PI forum digging back YEARS in RUB for exactly?

Couches work when I snore (or drink, or both), and when she tries to dialogue with me in Russian while sleeping. Big and comfy is best.

Drunk chicks are called girlfriends for a night... then never called again.

It's just not as cool when the wife is doing it.

There is nothing wrong with utilizing it.

I like a good used couch. Plenty of miles on it and it'll sleep really well.

Seriously, my couch is just as comfy as my bed and if I want a good night's sleep, I head to the couch.

Maybe we are still newlyweds and Alla will start drinking any day now (occasionally she gets a little tipsy, but the she just goes to sleep anyway) ...but there is no couch sleeping here. I tried after surgery since I was tossing and turning and wanted to be considerate, but who was going to be sacrficied to the bears? Didn't work.

The sad and boring thing is you could read 30 posts and not realize it was 4 years old. No doubt the driveby from PI had the same problem.

And the topic just picks right up again like nothing ever happened.

The point of that is our posts are timeless.

Or we just keep talking about the same stuff over and over. I'm going with timeless!

No. same stuff. Any day now we will see the Revolver vs. Auto thread again and the 9mm vs. .45 hoopla. Sheeesh, I hate when that happens.

An update from the OP would be pretty interesting, or entertaining, or something.
