My fiancee's interview date is on a Thursday also, so you are fine. Congrats.

Also, did you notice in the packet received from Ghana that the DS-156 forms are expired (2004 and 2007), when clearly the ones online (State Dept's website) are not? I wonder if that's something to be concerned about.

YES!!!

Yes, the forms we got are the old ones. I am bringing in the new ones when I go over. Why would they still be giving out the old ones??

Also any recent Accra interviews- I KNOW IT DOESNT HAVE SPACE FOR IT.... but did you get your I-134 notarized? The letter says to... but if they are using the old forms for the other ones they give us, i am assuming they havent updated their letter...

Thanks!

Congrats.......

Was wondering I see people are getting interview for the K-1's now being scheduled........but what about the interviews for CR1/IR1 Does anyone know if they will be scheduling them.....See if they were truly backed up the way they say that no interview for either would be scheduled........ So trying to find out what is up with things.....

I havent heard/seen anything. It doesnt seem like they are. I wish they were. I know some of you have been waiting sooo much longer then I have. Sincerly its not fair! My fiance said it was just K-1s (4) and lottary winners there this morning.

I dont know why they are not being scheduled like K-1s from when they come from NVC. They say they are backed up- but why is one being scheduled over the other? I don't know if its different staff that is needed and they don't have the staff for CR-1s? I hope you all hear soon so you can be with your loved ones too.

Take Care!!! Keep the faith!

They gave him a 2004 copy of DS-156 and DS-156k...

And a 2007 copy of DS-230.

Do we know for sure they want DS-260 for k-1s? I think i will send him with both just in case!

The DS-160 is not used for K-1/K-2 class visas. If you go to the Department of State web site, look up under visa forms, DS-160. Eventually you will see on the web page it says K-1/K-2s are excluded from using the new DS-160.

The DS-160 is an electronic submission, so it is not a form you fill out and carry with you, you fill out online and submit online.

Good luck.

we filled it out and will have the confirmation that you get just in case. Ghana does every backwards (like giving all expired forms like 2 editions ago!)- but they didnt take long to update the price on the papers!

We will bring both DS-160 and DS-156!

Does it say it is excluded already- I couldnt find it?

Thanks!

Hi Midge, Here is link to DoS web site FAQ on DS-160, see item 13.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/forms/forms_4401.html

13. When I apply for a nonimmigrant visa using the online DS-160, are additional forms required?

No, with two exceptions. When applying at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate that is using the new DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application, you will use only one (1) form. For Embassies and Consulates that have converted to this new process, the DS-160 has replaced all of the following forms: DS-156, DS-157, DS-158, and DS-3032, which are no longer necessary.

NOTE: The exceptions are Fiancé(e) Visas (K-1/2) which still require use of the forms DS-156 and DS-156K, and the Treaty Trader/Treaty Investor visa application, which is explained in #14 below.

Hey, if I don't chat with you before you go, have a great time. Do not forget to take 1,000 pictures especially with Parents and fiance(e)s.

Good luck.
