I am moving overseas to marry and spend my life with my fiance in Dallas, TX. :)

When I move, I realize we have 90 days to file for a AOS.

What I am wondering, is:

1. Do we just have to FILE for the AOS by the 90 days, or have it approved?

2. Anyone have any experience on how long it takes to gather all the documents needed to file the AOS, once in the US?

3. How fast should we get married, to have all the paperwork ready in time?

We really want to hold off the wedding as long as possible during those 90 days, so we get enough time to plan everything once I'm there, and book a venue, food etc. for the date we have to set AFTER I get my visa.

Anyone have any experience on getting married on a fiance visa in Texas, who maybe have some advice on how long it all takes, any good tips etc?

Would be higly appreicated. :D

I think that's all for now.

I want to say, THANK YOU to every helpful person on these forums, it has been such a good help for me and my fiance through this process!

i'm about to make you the happiest you've ever been to be wrong...

you do not need to file AOS in 90 days.. you need to get MARRIED in 90 days. You should file your AOS before your I-94 expires (you don't have to but you should) so that you don't go out-of-status.. but aside from that, there is NO deadline to file AOS... just to MARRY in the 90 days after your arrival.

i.e. Stop stressing. Plan your wedding to be in the 90 days. When you get your wedding certificate then you're able to send of the AOS documents.
