Hi,

I will be heading back to VN to marry my Fiance in Oct.

I was wondering what kind of paper work I should start to prepare now and have everything reading when I m back in VN?

Also i heard about getting a letter saying that you are single from the US before getting a marriage license in VN how can you obtain one?

Thank you ahead of time..

I m new to this forum so not much info about me yet..

you have to be specific, are u the US citizen, the one petitioning?

The process for the fiance/fiancee (k-1) visa actually takes some time, so you may want to hold off the wedding plans until you guys get the visa.

To start the K-1 journey, check the step-by-step process for the K-1 package http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

gather the forms, fill them out, sign them, gather supporting documents, proof of ongoing relationship, copies of your birth certificates, yours and hers, copy of the US citizen's passport, copy of pay stubs, proof of income, proof of ongoing relationship, pictures of both of you, proof of meeting, like copies of the hotel receipts when you visit, copy of the boarding passes, police clearance to prove that the fiancee you are petitioning for has no criminal records.

There may be more to add but that's all I can remember, i know others will chime in too ^_^

congrats on the engagement!

i don't know about the marriage license though proving you're single

so since you don't want a fiance visa, you don't need to do the K-1 route then.

You may wanna look in the K-3, that's for spousal visas. If you wanna get married before having ur fiancee over to the US, then the K-3 would seem a good fit. The K-1 visa is only for people who soley want to go to the US to get married but in your case you wanna marry right away, you'll need to ask the people in K-3 forums. what does VN stand for anyway?

and it would also help if you post more information, so people will be able to provide you more information
