hello VJ's

My fiance will have his interview in 2 days, there are some issues thats been bothering us! This is our story, my fiance and have been together as a couple for 7 years but weve been engaged for 2 years, we are planning for a big wedding on April 30 2011, with regards to our preparation we had our venue and reception reserved and downpayments have made, save the date CARDS have been sent. Now we know we have to get married within 90 days upon my fiance"s arrival in the united states, which we plan to do it on july 25 it will be civil wedding. Now my question is Can we include the wedding preparations in the proof of genuine engagement considering the date of the wedding? What will be the red flags if we include it? or are we still ok if we dont ? We were bothered since we read one of the case thats was just brought up here in VJ just today that they've been dating for 6 years and they have all the proofs of ongoing relationship but still they denied the visa with the grounds of " when they ask the fiance why are they not married yet and from there they assume its a fake and they denied it. Now we are so confused, we have all the proofs pictures name it we have it all but we didnt plan to include the wedding preaparations coz we thought it might be a red flag to them not until i encountered this case.

pls help! thanks

hey.Congrats 4 the interviw so as far as i know from the posts that were made here sometimes at the interviw they ask about the wedding date if u plan something or not i think is a great idea to include your wedding plans in the interviw as proffes of you relation.we are going to have a wedding are inoficial with no papers just the romanian traditions and a briede dress and a party and a preast that is going to bless us and i m taking the pictures from here as an evidence with me at the interviw.Good luck hun and stay calm and be natural think that u guys are going to be together soon these is the last step.Post and tell us how was.pls

Sounds good but you may want to word it differently. Speak of it as though it as a ceremony where all friends and family will celebrate your marriage. Make absolutely sure the interviewer knows both of you have plans to legally wed in a civil way within 90 days of POE.

Thanks for the comment! Yes thats what i thought, im afraid it might confuse them because , the wedding im talking about will be next year and not on his arrival. So i guess my fiancee really have to reiterate that its like a ceremony next year and a civil wedding next month! I am really scared to what i read yesterday. tHANKS AGAIN!

hi i had my interview yesterday, and the Co asked me if i have a date for the wedding i said yes i showed him the wedding contract of the hotel etc so i guess its a good evidence that ur relationship is genuine... good luck :)

are you referring of your wedding plans within 90 days of your arrival in the US? or are you referring a wedding in the philippines? Because mine is a wedding in the Philippines Next year, thats the plan im talking and the one in US will only be a civil wedding not much of a preparation.

Hi, the Co just asked me if I have a date already for the wedding and I said Sept 24, he did not ask me anymore any questions, if ever the CO will ask you the same question just tell the date of the civil wedding, if he will ask further questions thats the time you will say about the next plan, I learned that its better to answer yes or no so he will not ask any more questions :)

just let them know about the civil wedding :) if they ask why the long wait, well let them know your reasons, let them understand that it's real and all.. in the Phiippines, I noticed that as long as you have evidence of financial support, ongoing relationship, and they can see your inlove you guys won't get denied :) when I had my interview, there was only one girl who was denied who i knew of, well first coz the age diff was huge! she was 19, the guy was 50 something, and her answers to the consulate didn't really correlate to her supporting documents.

As long as there's consistency during the interview, you guys will be alright :) the previous post was right, a yes no is better than storytelling everything coz then they'll have a reason to askk too much questions lol plus the interview is mostly very quick
