FOLSOM (CBS13)

Police are searching for a teen suspect who allegedly stole a puppy from the arms of a young girl at a Roseville park Friday night.

The Roseville Police Department said an eight-year-old girl was playing with her leashed 10-week-old male German Shepherd-pit bull mix near the west side of Maidu Regional Park at about 6:40 p.m. Friday.

A teen boy approached the girl and asked if he could pet the dog, and then unclipped the leash and ran away with the dog, police said. The teen jumped into a waiting silver Dodge Caravan, which sped away.

The suspect is described as about 14-15 years old, 5'8" tall, with a "chunky" build. He had dark brown hair and was wearing an orange and white shirt and shorts.

The Roseville Police Department said stealing the puppy was felony grand theft. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Roseville Crime Stoppers at (916) 783-STOP. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
