Supreme Court rules that all Americans have fundamental right to bear arms

The bill of rights spells out our basic rights under the Constitution. One of these rights is the right to bear arms. It is given the same weight as our right of free speach, religion and the press. If the government can pass laws infringing our right to bear arms that means they can also pass laws to limit our other rights. It is a path we cannot even start to go down.

There's no right to free speach in the Consitution.

What's scary about the gun rights ruling is that there are four justices who don't see the right to bear arms as constitutionally protected.

Even more frightening is the 5 justices who seem to have no comprehension of context.

Really? I wonder what the first ammendment is for then.

The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights. The amendment prohibits the making of any law "respecting an establishment of religion", impeding the free exercise of religion, infringing on the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances.

There is no first ammendment and no right to free speach.

Care to elaborate on that?

ETA

Ah, spelling police have struck. OK, freedom of speech and amendment then.

too late. fed.gov has been infringing on your rights ever since slaughterhouse and cruishank. justice thomas is the only man on the bench who is willing to admit it. kudos to the only true constitutional scholar on the SCOTUS.
